AC unveils another revival of its legend.
The AC Cobra is one of the most recognizable and iconic sports cars in automotive history. AC Cars has revived its legacy by introducing the new AC Cobra GT. The new version of the historic sports car provides modern, compelling performance while maintaining the original Cobra’s iconic, instantly recognizable silhouette and charming, vintage look. While the Cobra GT was introduced as a roadster, the new AC Cobra GT Coupe has been revealed, adding a roof to the lineup.
Why is the new AC Cobra GT Coupe so special? It’s because the new AC Cobra GT Coupe is the first production AC Cobra Coupe in the manufacturer’s 123-year history, as the original AC Cobra was only ever offered as a roadster. The Coupe version not only modernizes the classic but reimagines it as a coupe for the first time, and it’s inspired by the AC A98 coupe, which raced at Le Mans in 1964. With performance-oriented character, it’s available with a naturally aspirated 450-horsepower V8 or a supercharged V8 with 720 horsepower. In addition to the AC Cobra GT Coupe production, AC Cars has also revealed the new AC Cobra GT Coupe Clubsport Edition.
The Clubsport Edition is an extreme, racing-focused iteration of the AC Cobra GT Coupe, with a 799-horsepower supercharged V8 engine under the hood. It’s limited to just 99 examples and will precede the production of the standard AC Cobra GT Coupe model. As a new revival and reinterpretation of AC Cars pedigree, history, and the legendary Cobra sports car, the new AC Cobra GT Coupe and the AC Cobra GT Coupe Clubsport Edition combine modern performance with an iconic vintage silhouette, with a shape that’s never been seen before.
