It’s an exciting time for Damen Yachting as their new Amels 60, a 196.7-foot superyacht, has started its series of sea trials. This beautiful vessel has a unique geometric exterior design that was penned by Espen Øino. Inside, the design studio Winch Design assembled the interior, creating a welcoming and modern environment for the guests.
In total, a total of 12 guests and 13 crew can rest onboard this Amels 60 making her perfect for entertaining a large group of people during a long cruise. Speaking of entertaining, she has a massive Sun Deck that measures in at 162 square meters, making it one of the largest in this size range for yachts. If you’ve ever wanted to sunbathe with friends without having to worry about space, you’ll have plenty of room on this Sun Deck.
Other notable features that make spending time on this Amels 60 a genuine pleasure include the six-person jacuzzi, fully-equipped outdoor kitchen, “cinematic setup” and a teppanyaki grill. That last one was an interesting but welcome inclusion as teppanyaki grills are perfect for cooking large amounts of food for everyone. Do you know those steakhouses where they cook food in front of you and make an onion volcano? You could recreate that scene with this grill, but please be careful.

For power, this new Amels 60’s heart is a hybrid propulsion system that Amels says is their most advanced yet. The company notes that the benefits of this hybrid system are a reduction in noise, longer lifespan of generators and engine, reduced fuel consumption and less vibration.
“This proven hybrid system currently offers the best solution to reduce harmful emissions, reduce noise and vibrations while benefiting from lower fuel and maintenance costs,” says Joppe Osté, Project Manager at Damen Yachting. “It also allows you to cruise up to a certain speed without using the main engines, solely cruising on the generators.”
This new superyacht, the Amels 60, is currently for sale at Damen Yachting and will be ready in August 2023.
