Throughout automotive history, some cars have cemented themselves as timeless icons with names that continue to carry weight to today’s standards.
Cars like the McLaren F1, Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR, Ferrari F40, Lamborghini Reventon, and Porsche Carrera GT have become instantly recognizable due to their stardom and impact on the industry, resulting in a competitive collector market that consistently soars. But what about those ultra-exclusive 2000s supercars that seem to have faded into some of the world’s greatest car collections, like the Saleen S7, Spyker C8, Lotec Sirius, and Maserati MC12? While they may not be the topic of discussion in modern times, owning examples like these helps preserve a legendary era of supercars and teach the next generation of car lovers a little about the past. It’s an approach taken by Devin (@fastrrr_llc), who has curated one of the most impressive car collections in the world.
As part of his most recent YouTube vlog, Devin joins Apollo Hypercars at a track day at the Circuit Of The Americas just outside of Austin, TX, for some track time behind the wheel of his nearly $3 million Apollo IE. The setting proved to be perfect as the session turned into a delivery day as Fastrrr’s newest addition to the fleet, a 2008 Gumpert Apollo, arrived trackside. Purchased from the team at Young Motorcars of Scottsdale, AZ, this Gumper Apollo stands out as a true 1-of-1 U.S. registered and street-legal example. Built with a no-frills focus on speed and downforce, its aggressive, race-inspired body was unlike anything else on the road at the time. Under the hood sits a twin-turbo 4.2L Audi V8 pushing out up to 700+ horsepower, mated to a 6-speed sequential gearbox that makes every shift feel like a punch. It sprints from 0-60 in around 3 seconds and had a top speed north of 220 mph.
