Hispano Suiza may be taking its Carmen to the track.
Hispano Suiza, first established in 1904, is one of the most historic names in the automotive history, with its creations being celebrated at Concours events and museums, and its modern revitalization mixing its rich heritage and history with the innovation and futurism of all-electric hypercars. With the Carmen and Carmen Boulogne, Hispano Suiza created a stylish, powerful, and bespoke grand touring electric hypercar with a historically-inspired silhouette and artisan craftsmanship. However, the new Carmen Sagrera will change things.
Teased in the manufacturer’s latest announcement, the new Hispano Suiza Carmen Sagrera is set to be unveiled in the middle of the year, commemorating Hispano Suiza’s 120th anniversary. It’s named after the La Sagrera district of Barcelona, where Hispano Suiza established its first large factory.
The teaser of the new Carmen Sagrera shows a new side to the Carmen, with a carbon fiber spoiler transforming its look and clearly defining it as a sportier, track-ready version of the luxurious hypercar. While the Sagrera will definitely be sportier than the previous Carmen models, Hispano Suiza says that it will do so without compromising the Carmen’s “hyperlux” ethos, and with a 103 kW battery capacity, it will also have increased driving range. With a new, sporting-focused take on its exclusive hypercar, Hispano Suiza is set to shake up the electric hypercar playing field with the Carmen Sagrera.
