Automotive art at its finest.
Founded in Milan, Italy in 1919, Zagato has a storied history of over a century, combining engineering with artisanal craftsmanship to push the boundaries of car design. Its legacy continues with the global debut of the AGTZ Twin Tail, born from the thrilling collaboration between La Squadra and Zagato. Unveiled first as a smaller-scale model at Zagato’s historic Milan Atelier in February, the AGTZ Twin Tail has quickly evolved into a stunning show car, previewing a limited run of 19 bespoke chassis.

The AGTZ Twin Tail transforms a modern mid-engined icon into a jaw-dropping piece of automotive art. Its standout feature is its transformational bodywork, inspired by the A220 racecar. Originally designed with a longtail for racing, the A220 was later converted to a shorttail, showcasing a more muscular look. This modern version blends both longtail and shorttail configurations.

The AGTZ Twin Tail’s bodywork is primarily constructed with carbon fiber, ensuring the removable tail is light and easy to handle. A custom-made trolley helps in the conversion process, displaying the rear deck as an automotive sculpture when not in use. In shorttail form, the car measures 14 feet, extending to 15.7 feet in its longtail configuration. The extended decklid also improves aerodynamics, reducing drag and increasing high-speed stability, with a top speed projected beyond 155mph and a 0-62mph time under five seconds.

The AGTZ Twin Tail pays tribute to the A220’s history, which targeted 24H Le Mans glory with its slender bodywork. This innovative spirit is honored in the AGTZ Twin Tail, which will be displayed alongside both longtail and shorttail A220 chassis at FuoriConcorso on 25-26 May 2024.
Limited to just 19 examples, each car undergoes a 1000-hour build process at Zagato’s headquarters, spending 15 weeks in production. Prices start at $705,000 excluding taxes, with an extensive array of options available, including 19 colors, nine liveries, and a paint-to-sample option. Optional upgrades include carbon wheels, panels, and a Supersprint exhaust, along with enhancements to the 252hp 1.8L turbo engine, suspension, and braking systems. Production has already begun, with order books filling quickly. The AGTZ Twin Tail will make its on-road debut in summer 2024.
