Porsche 918 Spyder Destroys McLaren 650S Spider in Drag Race

At the Palm Beach International Raceway this past weekend, a battle of the spiders/spyders occurred. The combatants? A Porsche 918 Spyder and a McLaren 650S Spider.

Sure, the 650S is an amazing car, coming in with a twin turbo 3.8-liter engine that puts out 641 hp. But, those numbers won’t stand up against the  918 Spyder and its hybrid powertrain that produces 887 hp.

If these numbers aren’t enough for you, you can watch the video of the two battling it out on the drag strip. I won’t say who won, but DragTimes.com believes this was the “quickest real world 1/4 mile pass at a drag strip for 918 Spyder” and the “quickest completely stock McLaren on factory provided OEM tires”. Check it all out below.
