The driven British singletons brought together by a shared love for the 718 Cayman GT4.
They say that true love starts with a shared passion or interest between two people. For James Oliver and Nicky Stevenson, the spark began with their love for Porsche. What begins as two strangers commuting through day-to-day life behind the wheel of Porsches, quickly turned into a romance powered by horsepower. Porsche is proud to present the perfect love story, featuring two singles brought together by the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4. A 38-year-old financial advisor in southwest England, James Oliver acquired his obsession with Porsche after purchasing his first Boxter S in 2014. He later went on to get into a Porsche 911 Carrera S that he regrets selling to this day, and ultimately onto the all-electric Taycan Turbo S in Carmine Red. At the same time that James owned the Taycan Turbo S, 34-year-old Nicky Stevenson was in the middle of obtaining a 718 GTS in the very exact color. Although the two had yet to meet at this point, it was more than clear that they shared the same amazing taste in automobiles.

With James looking for a 911 Carrera replacement and Nicky wanting another 718 model, Porsche came in clutch with the release of the 718 Cayman GT4. Still unaware of each other’s existence, James was able to secure his dream Python Green spec while Nicky found an allocation available for configuration. The couple officially met through an online Porsche GT4 owner’s group, where Nicky had created a thread regarding opinions on her preferred color choice of Shark Blue. Soon she and Oliver, who was now in possession of his car, were in regular discussions about all things Porsche and stayed in contact while Stevenson’s GT4 was in build. Once she took delivery of her Shark Blue GT4, James gained the courage to finally ask Nicky on a date to attend the Simply Porsche spring event. History lives on after the day James and Nicky first met, as they continue to take long road trips in their GT4s to iconic locations like the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen. With a wedding date on the horizon of 2023, the couple plans their upcoming wedding with Porsche being the main inspiration. The bride will arrive at the church in Oliver’s Taycan Turbo S, the best man in Stevenson’s GT4, and the groom in a Paint To Sample 911 GT3 that he takes delivery of in the autumn.
