The Porsche Boxster has received an upgrade, and it looks enticingly good.
A black exterior is accompanied by a black interior, accented with chrome in just the right places, in the new Boxster Black Edition. Photos posted to Porsche’s Facebook page today and a new section on their website detail this new offering, defined by its subtle, classy, understated elegance, described as “an almost indecent proposal.”
“Style. Class. And a certain amount of sex appeal,” are the first things Porsche uses to describe this new trim, defining them as virtues that everyone should “absolutely” expect in a sports car. Through 20-inch Carrera Classic wheels, its long wheelbase, classic Porsche fenders, large air inlets and roll-over bars all consistently a glossy black, they’ve imbued the Boxster with those virtues, and then some.

Performance still comes from the classic Boxster set up of a 2.7-liter inline-six, with 0-60 mph reached in 5.5 seconds thanks to 265 hp and 206 lb-ft. With the addition of the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission and Sport Chrono package, those numbers receive a slight boost. But truly, this is a car to be seen in, and the longer it takes you to drive by, the more will be seen.
