The Very First Porsche Was Built 75 Years Ago Today

There has been lots of celebration and hype around the fact that 2023 marks Porsche’s 75th anniversary, with the historic manufacturer being established in 1948. However, today is an especially important day because it marks exactly 75 years since June 8, 1948, which was the day on which the very first Porsche, the 356 No. 1 Roadster, got its general operating permit. To celebrate the important day on which Ferry Porsche turned his dream of building a sports car into a reality, Porsche will be broadcasting its “75 Years of Porsche Sports Cars” anniversary show on a live stream.

At 9:40 pm CEST, which is 3:40 pm Eastern, Porsche will broadcast the festivities, which will feature music, visuals, and choreography. The five-act show will cover the themes of Heritage, Zeitgeist, Performance, Pioneering Spirit, and Dreams, with plenty of cars and brand ambassadors placed throughout. In addition, the event will kick off the “Driven by Dreams. 75 years of Porsche Sports Cars” exhibition, which will open on June 9 at the Porsche Museum, and Porsche also will show “a look forward to its vision of the sports car of the future,” possibly previewing the next chapter of Porsche’s iconic sports car. With a celebration of its past, present, and future, this live stream available on YouTube, LinkedIn, and Twitch, is a must-watch for any Porsche enthusiast.
