A perfect way to honor his winning race car.

In 1985, Paolo Barilla took the overall win at Le Mans in the iconic New Man Porsche 956. Barilla is now celebrating the car and his victory with his new Porsche 911 GT3 which features a livery that was inspired by his winning race car. This new 911 GT3 came to life through Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur’s new Sonderwunsch program. In this program, the client becomes the “project manager” and works with members from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur and the Style Porsche design department to create their dream car. In total, the process to create Barilla’s 911 GT3 took three years and he took delivery of it on his birthday. Its exterior features Summer Yellow, white and black paint to create the livery design. The wheels were also designed to mimic the setup that Barilla’s 956 utilized when racing. Inside, the cabin sports special touches like the “Le Mans 1985” logo found on the door entry guards and on the headrests. Even the shifter knob was designed to mimic the magnesium ball from the 956 race car.

“The unique customer experience is at the heart of the Porsche brand,” according to Alexander Fabig, Vice President Individualisation and Classic at Porsche AG. “That’s why the significantly expanded Sonderwunsch program is another milestone in terms of customer enthusiasm worldwide. And this car project is the jewel in the crown of customization by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.”
