Porsche’s second all-electric model is finally here.
Since its introduction, the Porsche Macan has been very well received in the 75-year-old performance luxury manufacturer’s model lineup, often trading places with the legendary Cayenne SUV as its highest seller, depending on the period and the region. The nimble, stylish, and sporty SUV has remained a favorite for a decade for those who want luxury, practicality, and performance in a small SUV package.
However, the new generation of the Macan is here, and it now bears the responsibility of being Porsche’s second all-electric model, and with this new generation, Porsche is making a bold commitment to electrification by making the new generation of one of its most popular staples an all-electric model.
The new all-electric Macan comes in two forms: the Macan 4 and the Macan Turbo, which are capable of producing 402 and 630 horsepower respectively with dual-motor all-wheel drive. 0-60 times are 4.9 and 3.1 seconds, and 136 and 161 mph respectively as well. In addition, this new Macan also features optional rear-axle steering and two-valve dampers for a ride that’s both comfortable and dynamic.

With aerodynamics being paramount to electric efficiency, the design has been revised to feature a more coupe-like silhouette. As a result, its drag coefficient is only 0.25, making it one of the most streamlined SUVs available. However, even though the rear is more sloped than the combustion engine generations of the Macan, cargo space is not compromised but actually improved with an added front compartment.
The new all-electric Porsche Macan is available to order now, with the Macan 4 starting at $78,800, and the Macan Turbo starting at $105,300. With a new all-electric evolution of the Porsche Macan’s signature blend of luxury, performance, practicality and style that made it so popular when it was first introduced 10 years ago, the new model is sure to continue Porsche’s current success on the electrification front.
