The gaming universe is getting a dose of Porsche’s latest electric futurism.
The world of Overwatch 2 is known for its sci-fi creativity, colorful cast of characters, and nonstop action. At SXSW, the Austin, Texas event where creativity, culture, art, science, and technology collide to foster new ideas and rich innovation, Porsche and Blizzard Entertainment announced a collaboration within the Overwatch 2 game.
The collaboration has resulted in players being able to sport Porsche-inspired skins, including one inspired by the new electric Porsche Macan, the second electric model in Porsche’s lineup. The skins showcase Porsche’s innovation, history, and automotive excellence in a larger-than-life science fiction fantasy, action-packed gaming world.
The first skin is available for fan-favorite character D.Va, whose mech in the skin features various elements of the electric Macan’s design. A life-size replication of the mech will be featured at South by Southwest, and at other events throughout the year, it will be on display promoting the new collaboration.
Other skins will be revealed later, and when the collaboration launches in-game, there will be two skins to collect, as well as various Porsche-inspired cosmetic accessories for Overwatch 2 players to add to their characters. As one of the most iconic universes in the digital world collaborates with one of the most legendary sports luxury car manufacturers, Porsche and Overwatch blend zany creativity with the bold futurism of electrification in the automotive world.
