Porsche Museum Shows Off Their Oldest 911 for 1st Time

The Porsche Museum is finally showing off their oldest 911 model after three years of restoration. This specific red 911 coupe was built back in October 1964 and was one of the first series-production models.

How did the Porsche Museum acquire this car? It’s actually a pretty wild story. Back in 2014, a TV team came upon two 911s that were from the 1960s. They soon contacted the Porsche Museum who then informed them that one of them (chassis 300.057) was built as a 901, the model designation given before it changed over to 911. The Porsche Museum then purchased both 911s and went on to restore chassis 300.057 and are now unveiling it at the their special exhibition called “911 (901 No. 57) – A legend takes off.” This exhibition will run from December 14, 2017 to April 8, 2018.
