Their latest press release shows the new Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet’s convertible top is an engineering masterpiece.
Instead of multiple folding sections, the section above the cockpit is a rigid magnesium frame. Not only does it copy the roofline of the coupe, it does without multiple bows and hinges. When opening, it moves rear in a linear action to cover the rear glass, almost identical to folding hardtops found on the competitors.
