Like the other LMDh cars, the new Porsche 963 is powered by a hybrid system, pairing a twin-turbocharged V8 engine with electric motors, with the engine being the latest descendant in a long line of racing V8s from Porsche. Due to an agreement between international racing organizations, the car, along with other LMDh cars from around the world, will participate in the FIA World Endurance Championship, as well as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. As a result, the car will make its debut at this month’s 2023 24 Hours of Daytona. With the start of the new year, the future of racing is here, and Porsche plans to be the first name mentioned when this exciting era of motorsport is talked about.
