Described as ‘A True Driver’s Car’ by Porsche.

The Porsche 911 will forever continue its legacy as one of the most iconic sports cars in automotive history, boasting a timeless design that pairs perfectly with its track-like performance. Porsche is proud to pay tribute to the classic 911 Carrera RS 2.7 from the 1970s, with an all-new 2023 Porsche 911 Sport Classic limited-production model. The special project is born from Porsche’s Heritage Design strategy, which began its start in 2020 with the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition. Limited to only 1,250-examples worldwide, the Porsche 911 Sport Classic defines itself as a true driver’s car for any collector or enthusiast looking to re-live the early days of Porsche excellence.

The exterior receives its wide-body styling from the updated 992 911 Turbo S, presenting an aggressive stance with plenty of aerodynamics to handle beautifully through quick turns. The 911 Sport Classic features a unique paint scheme that incorporates a Sport Grey Metallic finish with contrasting light Sport Grey racing stripes, both colors that are exclusive to Porsche’s extensive color palette. Customers may also configure the 911 Sport Classic in Black (non-metallic), Agate Grey Metallic, or Gentian Blue Metallic. The most inspirational aspect of the new body design is the large ducktail spoiler crafted from CFRP, embracing classic design DNA reminiscent of the 1972 and 1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7. The 911 Sport Classic wheels take shape as a modern re-interpretation of the classic Fuchs design, a style that continues as a popular trend within the community of Porsche owners and enthusiasts.

While Porsche is known for creating some of the most unique interior color combinations, the 911 Sport Classic features a semi-aniline Black/Classic Cognac design reminiscent of the 1960s and early 1970s. The use of supple and natural feeling grade of leather has not been replicated since the production of the 918 Spyder. The interior also comes available in a simple and modest single-tine black leather configuration. Porsche includes a commemorative badge on the passenger side of the dashboard above the glovebox that enumerates each example in the 1,250-unit production run.

At the heart of the beast lies an engine and transmission combination that Porsche purists could only describe as the answer to their prayers. Delivering over 543-horsepower and 442-lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels, Porsche fits the 911 Sport Classic with the same 3.9-Liter Twin-Turbocharged Flat-Six found in the 911 Turbo models. The difference between this special edition example and the rest of the regular production models is revised engine tuning that produces the appropriate power out compatible with its 7-speed manual transmission. The Porsche 911 Sport Classic now refers to itself as the most powerful 911 with a manual transmission currently available.

Porsche Design is also proud to feature a special edition Chronograph exclusively for owners of the Porsche 911 Sport Classic. The all-new 2023 Porsche 911 Sport Classic will be available in the United States as part of the 2023 model year, with pricing information coming closer to market arrival.
