Porsche Sharing Service Launches in USA

Porsche is now launching a pilot program in the United States for their “Host” service. This new service will allow private individuals to offer up their Porsches for short-term access. So if you’re in the mood to drive a specific Porsche but don’t own one or don’t want to buy one, this new program may be for you.

Called Porsche Host, this peer-to-peer car sharing program will be available to customers in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Porsche worked with Turo to develop this program, and it will be accessible through the Turo app starting on October 8. Porsche notes that vehicles can be “hired” for periods ranging between one day and one month. The vehicles being hired are coming from customers who have gone through specific training on how to “provide the premium experience that is typical of Porsche to the drivers wishing to hire their sports cars,” according to Porsche.

“Partnerships with innovators like Turo are the key to ensuring that we can turn our vision into reality and provide our customers with completely new Porsche experiences”, explains Thilo Koslowski, CEO of Porsche Digital, Inc. And he adds: “By working with our partners, we are able to develop new mobility offerings and business models.”
