Porsche’s collaboration with Overwatch 2 comes to life at Gamescom.
More than 300,000 gaming fans are expected to descend on Gamescom this year, showcasing the latest in the video game world in Germany. As part of this year’s showcases at Gamescom, Blizzard Entertainment is showing off its collaboration project between Porsche and its Overwatch 2 title. Combining Porsche’s futuristic performance luxury cars with the zany and colorful cast of characters from the iconic game, the new collaboration highlights the new all-electric version of Porsche’s iconic SUV, the Macan.
For the duration of Gamescom, Overwatch 2 players will be able to equip D.Va and Pharah with Porsche-inspired cosmetic skins. Porsche’s interactive stand at Gamescom with Overwatch 2 is inspired by the hometown of D.Va, one of the Overwatch universe’s most iconic characters, Busan, South Korea. Neon signs and a karaoke bar highlight the setting, and a gaming area allows visitors to compete with each other, as well as famous content creator Bogur in a “Beat the Streamer” contest.
Celebrated cosplayers Alyson Tabbitha and Stellar Cosplay will also participate in the festivities, cosplaying as D.Va and Pharah. Dressed as D.Va, Alyson Tabbitha will showcase the mech suit D.Va wears, which employs many of the new electric Porsche Macan’s design elements. A custom Porsche Macan Electric will also be on display at the show, featuring a livery design called ‘Nerf This,’ named after one of D.Va’s iconic quotes. It will be next to a life-size statue of D.Va’s Porsche-inspired mech robot called Tokki, first seen at Porsche’s presence at South by Southwest. With a creative collaboration between a gaming icon and one of the world’s premier performance luxury car manufacturers, Porsche and Overwatch 2 bring a true spectacle to this year’s Gamescom.
