The best word to describe Porsche and its pursuit of automotive excellence is ‘Timeless’. From the very first 356 to the current 992 911 Sport Classic, the Porsche brand continues to preserve its legacy by continuing to incorporate design characteristics from its most loved and historic sports cars. Giving Porsche’s iconic Pepita interior fabric its much-deserved spotlight, Swiss furniture designer Vitra has teamed up with the automaker to release a limited-edition run of its most popular chairs to style the home or office of a true Porsche purist. Upholstered in original Pepita fabric directly from the manufacturer, the collection is set to debut at Milan Design Week’s ‘The Art of Dreams‘ event at Palazzo Clerici from April 16th to 21st.
The lineup kicks off with the Eames Plastic Side Chair Pepita Edition. Originally designed by Charles & Ray Eames in 1950, this chair features the original Porsche Pepita fabric and contrasting white shell set on a black maple wood base. Limited to 1,963 pieces and priced at 911 euros ($970), it’s a nod to Porsche’s history in every detail. For those who spend hours at a desk, the ID Trim L Pepita Edition office chair by Antonio Citterio offers customized comfort and a flow motion mechanism that ensures a comfortable posture throughout the day. This office essential, wrapped in the iconic fabric, is limited to 911 examples and retails for 1,911 euros ($2,035).
Rounding out the collection is the Petit Repos Pepita Edition armchair. This compact, cushioned armchair provides a luxurious seating experience, detailed with double stitching and an understated dark underside. Available in just 99 pieces at 3,911 euros ($4,164), it transports you from the driver’s seat to an office environment. This collaboration highlights Porsche and Vitra’s shared design and quality, making the Porsche Pepita Edition a must-have for collectors and design enthusiasts alike. The Porsche Pepita Edition by Vitra range will be exclusively available on Porsche Design’s website starting April 22nd.
