Watch The Porsche 911 GT3 Manthey Cut Over 4 Seconds Off Nurburgring Time

The Porsche 911 GT3 is formidable on the track, but Porsche found a way to make it even better.

With its racing-derived swan-neck wing, the extensive use of carbon fiber, and some of the greatest racing-focused innovations Porsche has ever poured into the 911, the Porsche 911 GT3 is an incredibly impressive car on the track, able to do a lap of the Nordschleife circuit of the Nürburgring in less than 7 minutes. However, Porsche and Manthey saw that there was still some room for improvement even with a car as powerful and dynamic as the 911 GT3, so in conjunction, the Manthey Performance kit was created to improve the GT3’s aerodynamics and chassis, and with the kit, the GT3’s Nürburgring lap time improved by more than 4 seconds, shaving it down to 6:55:737.

Manthey and Porsche started by increasing the downforce of the car. With larger aero components at the front of the car, and a wider swan-neck wing, and new carbon fiber components throughout, efficiency and downforce are increased significantly. In addition, Manthey developed a special four-way coilover suspension that is adjustable for optimal track performance, and along with the GT3’s optional lightweight wheels and Manthey’s racing brake pads, the 911 GT3 was able to improve its Nürburgring time by a total of 4.19 seconds. Currently, the Manthey Performance Kit is available in Europe but will expand to other markets soon.
