According to the J.D. Power 2021 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS), the Porsche 911 is the most dependable vehicle in the U.S. This was the second time that the 911 has taken the top spot among all models in the past three years. In order to be given this award, the study analyzes the number of problems per 100 vehicles that are experienced in the past 12months by original owners of three-year-old vehicles. Points are given per problem, so a low score is desired. According to Porsche, “U.S. customers reported 18 fewer PP100 in the latest study to bring the overall score down to 86 PP100 compared to this year’s luxury average of 118.” But it wasn’t just the 911 that was given an award as the Porsche Macan took the top spot for Compact Premium SUV.
