From racetrack to public roads, the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 shapes itself as one of the most iconic homologation vehicles in history.

As the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 continues to celebrate its 50th anniversary, the automotive icon still holds the same historic significance as it did as a true homologation example in 1972. 50 years after its debut at the Paris Motor Show, the Porsche Museum is proud to honor the 911 Carrera 2.7 RS with a special exhibition titled ‘Spirit of Carrera RS’. The exhibit walks guests through a timeline that tells the story of the RS and RSR through films, photos, racing posters, and interactive features. At the center of the experience is a bright yellow 911 Carrera RS 2.7 in a touring spec, along with an extremely rare metallic green prototype.

The displays include development documents, advertising brochures, price lists, the Carrera logo, and an article from the Porsche magazine Christophorus describing the path from a development vehicle to a production-ready Porsche. Visitors of the Porsche Museum can also expect to see other extraordinary models, spanning over five decades of Porsche history. The ‘Spirit of Carrera RS’ exhibit at the Porsche Museum is currently open and welcomes all Porsche fanatics to experience the 911 Carrera RS 2.7’s journey.
