Rolls-Royce uses its bespoke craftsmanship to celebrate rich culture.
The Lunar New Year is one of the most vibrant and expressive celebrations in Chinese Culture, and it features beautiful traditions and icons throughout the celebration. For 2024, as the Lunar New Year takes place on February 10, it will mark the beginning of the Year of the Dragon, and Rolls-Royce has decided to celebrate the Lunar New Year with the style, opulence, luxury, and craftsmanship of its Bespoke department, creating ultra-exclusive special commissions for the event.
Four total Bespoke commissions have been created: three examples of the Phantom Extended, and one example of the Cullinan. The cars all feature unique configurations, all inspired by the aesthetics and traditional colors of the Lunar New Year, and specifically the Year of the Dragon. In each car, the dashboard features a hand-painted dragon motif, and each one took more than two weeks to meticulously create.
In addition, Rolls-Royce has created a depiction of a dragon for the first time in its Starlight headliner, with 677 “stars” creating the image. On top of that, the headrests of the seats feature an intricate dragon embroidery, created with 5,449 stitches and taking over 20 hours to complete each one. The configurations themselves feature a minimalist approach to their aesthetics, creating pared back, understated, subtle canvases for the unique dragon details to shine. With four new bespoke cars created with exquisite detail, Rolls-Royce celebrates the Lunar New Year in its exquisite elegance and style.
