Rolls-Royce celebrates a gem of its rich history at Goodwood Revival.
Goodwood Revival is a special racing event that takes place in a venue with a rich, deep history. Historical iconic race cars gather at Goodwood for a celebration of motorsport that involves not only vintage cars but an all-encompassing vintage lifestyle. Being the home of Rolls-Royce for over 20 years, the historic ultra-luxury brand is participating in the event and contributing a rare gem from its own history.
2024 is Rolls-Royce’s 120th anniversary year, and as such, the manufacturer has been reflecting on its history, consisting of over a century of luxury innovation and automotive excellence. One of the many stunning luxury cars in Rolls-Royce’s lineage is the Silver Cloud, the last owner-driven Rolls-Royce model (unlike the Phantom VI, which was meant to be driven by a chauffeur) to be offered as a rolling chassis with separate bodywork to be installed by a coachbuilder. Mulliner Park Ward, a Rolls-Royce subsidiary at the time, provided the coachwork for the specific example Rolls-Royce is bringing to Goodwood Revival.
A stunning classic, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud coming to Goodwood Revival is also a rare beauty, built as a fixed-head coupe, one of what is likely around 100 built by Mulliner Park Ward. Its exterior paintwork is Brewster Green, and its interior is gorgeously upholstered in Claret Red leather. Under the hood is a 6.2-liter V8 engine, and the car is displayed as part of the event, specifically in the ‘March Motor Works.’
The area, keeping in the spirit of the vintage event, painstakingly recreates Berkeley Square and the Rolls-Royce showroom located in London’s iconic Mayfair district in its time. With a stunning historic car and a beautiful historically accurate stage to display it on, Rolls-Royce’s presence at Goodwood Revival is an incredible celebration of automotive history and its 120th anniversary.
