Rolls-Royce reveals the first creations to come from its Shanghai Private Office.
For over 20 years, Rolls-Royce has called Goodwood its home, and until recently, Goodwood was also Rolls-Royce’s only hub for curating its incredible Rolls-Royce Bespoke creations. However, Rolls-Royce’s new Private Offices around the world have changed that, bringing the ultra-luxe bespoke creation experience offered at Goodwood to destinations across the globe. It started in the famed luxury hotspot Dubai and expanded to Shanghai, where the first Rolls-Royce Bespoke vehicles to be curated at the Private Office Shanghai have finally been revealed.
The collection, consisting of three cars, is entitled “Spirit of Expression,” and it debuted ahead of the 2024 Beijing Motor Show, which is where the cars will make their public debut starting April 25. The design of the cars in the collection reflects the natural sights of the favorite global destinations of Rolls-Royce’s Chinese clients, and as such, the wide spectrum of colors and materials use celebrates the beauty of the natural world.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended “Magnetism” is inspired by the Cala Luna Beach of Sicily, with the Cala Luna Sand exterior paint color evoking the look of the moonlit sand, and the Kabira Blue it’s paired with reminding the viewer of the horizon where the sea meets the night sky. Inside, the night sky is replicated with a Starlight Headliner consisting of 1,344 blue and white “stars.” Along with that, the interior is sumptuously upholstered in Blue Grey, Navy Blue, and Arctic White leather with Arctic White contrast stitching and a contrasting open-pore Obsidian Ayous veneer.
Meanwhile, the vibrant colors of the Rolls-Royce Spectre “Escapism” are inspired by the tropical scenes of South America. Lantana Red and Tempest Grey are used in a two-tone exterior to reflect a tropical scene, while the interior’s Selby Grey, Purple Silk, and Sunset leather colors add to the theme of rainforest flora and fauna. Additional bespoke touches include an illuminated Spirit of Ecstasy and Obsidian Ayous veneer on the steering wheel with Purple Silk leather.
Boracay Island, nestled in the Western Visayas of the Philippines, served as the inspiration for the Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended “Expressionism.” The sedan pairs Boracay Blue paintwork with a Lime Green Coachline to evoke the tropics and sunsets of the island. Inside, the Black and Arctic White leather upholstery is set against Lime Green accents, including an embroidered celestial motif consisting of a total 104,268 stitches. The Starlight Headliner features an abstract wave pattern that visualizes silk in the wind, with 1,040 “stars” in Lime Green and White.
Making their public debut at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, the Rolls-Royce Bespoke “Spirit of Expressionism” collection will be on display at the show from April 25 to May 4. Being the first collection of cars to come out of Rolls-Royce’s Private Office Shanghai, these stunning bespoke creations are here to show the unparalleled degree of luxury and design Rolls-Royce is capable of.
