Most cars are built as transportation, and they live hard lives as beasts of burden. On the other end of the spectrum, automobiles from a refined marque are sometimes given a life of ease.
Such is the case with this 1972 Ferrari 365 Daytona. This Daytona has lived its entire life in California, having only accrued 19,981 miles since new. The interior is all original, with no signs of wear or sun damage. Tan leather with black accents are as timeless as the gated 5-speed shifter.
Sparing no expense, it was ordered with every option by Ronald Dorst of Saratoga, California. His machine has A/C, power windows, AM/FM radio and brilliant Borani wire wheels. It was purchased by Ferrari collector and winemaker Gil Nickel in 1994, being stored with care at his home in Napa Valley. Detailing of the interior and undercarriage were performed recently along with new paint. This Ferrari Classiche Certified 365 is a time capsule.
