Martini Porsche 918 Spyder w/ Under 1,000 Miles at Mecum Monterey

Yes, you read that right. One of the most powerful and unprecedented cars of all time is heading to Mecum’s Monterey Auction. If you like your Martini shaken and stirred, this one is for you. Only 918 examples of the Porsche 918 were produced, and many have been lost due to inexperience. It takes years of wisdom to respect 944 lb-ft of torque and 887 horsepower.

As Porsche’s first hypercar, it combines the 4.6 liter V8 from the RS Spyder race car with a hybrid electrical system. The battery provides power to an electric motor/generators mounted at each end of the car. The front one powers both front wheels, and incorporates torque vectoring and battery regeneration when braking. If your trip is under 20 miles, you can do it silently by running on battery only. With one touch of the mode button, the wild V8 roars to life. It has no turbos, a supercharger, or even an accessory belt. The accessories are electrically powered to keep the system more reliable than competitors.

Porsche 918 Spyder chassis #541 is finished in Basalt Black with an Onyx Black interior. It has Acid Green accents on the brakes and seatbelts, along with the desirable carbon fiber interior package. Also ordered was the front axle lift system, a 12 o’clock marker on the steering wheel and lightweight carbon fiber racing seats. With only 855 miles this fresh Martini needs you, and of course, an olive. You’ll be able to bid on this rare supercar at Mecum in Monterey on Saturday, August 25, so tune in to Mecum’s live feed on YouTube and stay with us for complete coverage.
