RENNtech Motorsports Proves to be a Serious Contender in the International GT4 Class

RENNtech Motorsports started its racing campaign by taking P2 in class and P9 overall in the 24H race at the CREVENTIC Hankook 24H GT SERIES at COTA in Austin, TX, November 18th, 2018.

Competing in the GT class for GT4-homologated race-cars the VULCAN #890 RENNtech Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT4 was driven by Chapman Ducote, (USA), David Ducote (USA), Wayne Ducote (USA), Paul Barnhardt, Jr. (USA), and Kyle Marcelli (CAN).

The 24-hour endurance race was split into two segments with the opening twelve-and-a-half hours driven on Saturday, followed by eleven-and-a-half hours on Sunday.

With a sensational lap, Kyle Marcelli put the RENNtech Motorsports AMG GT4 on the Pole Position, ahead of the HTP/Winward’s Mercedes-AMG GT4 and P14 overall in a mix of 34 total cars. David Ducote started the race for RENNtech on Saturday. However, penalties due to an all-new team-driver-car combination cost valuable time. By the end of the first segment, theRENNtech AMG GT4 placed P3 in class and P9 overall.

Starting on Sunday, Kyle Marcelli set the pace for an outstanding day of racing. During early parts of the second segment, the RENNtech Motorsports GT4 was leading the race in the GT4 class. In the final hours, the RENNtech Motorsports GT4 was able to compete in a nail-biting battle with the classic BMW GT4 for the victory. After 24H of racing the #890 RENNtech Motorsports AMG GT4finished P2 in the GT4 class and P9 overall.

With the stellar performances from the drivers and the team, the RENNtech Motorsports AMG GT4 finished ahead of seasoned teams running AMG GT 4, Porsche, Ginetta, and BMW, proving that RENNtech Motorsports is a serious contender in the GT4 Class.
