SSC North America Just Delivered Its First 2,200HP Tuatar...

SSC North America debuts its new chapter. In a growing pool of dreamers and innovators, the hypercar market solidifies itself as a space where brands and engineers constantly push the boundaries of design, performance, and technology to break records and reach milestones. And while that market has been relatively niche until its recent uprise with more competition from newcomers, those pioneers who paved the way for modern hypercars carry an unspoken significance and an extra cool factor for being among the first. SSC North America stands as one of those pioneers with a passion for performance, holding the title for world's fastest production car from 2007 to 2010 with its 1,300 horsepower Ultimate Aero. Today, SSC North America is proud to add to its ongoing legacy and introduce its next chapter with the first delivery of the all-new 2,200-horsepower Tuatara Aggressor. Built in Richland, Washington and engineered for road legality, the Aggressor demonstrates what happens when a boutique American automaker removes the rulebook and chases pure horsepower. It's a defining moment for SSC's high-speed legacy, the future of American-built hypercars, and the passionate owners who drive them. With a 2,200-horsepower flat-plane-crank, twin-turbocharged V8 sitting just inches behind the driver, the SSC Aggressor is a balance between a purpose-built race machine and any street-focused hypercar. Track enthusiasts will quickly notice how drastically the SSC Aggressor differs from the Tuatara, which continues to battle for top-speed superiority. Instead of prioritizing aero efficiency at speed, SSC has dialed in maximum downforce for cornering grip, stability, and driver engagement. Every element, from the chassis tuning and weight optimization to the aero and cooling, exists to sharpen feedback, responsiveness, and durability under heavy track sessions. The cockpit is fully customizable, allowing owners to configure the seating position, control layout, and interface around their personal racing style and preferred circuits. What makes this first delivery especially meaningful is that it's going to a female driver deeply dedicated to track events. Her involvement represents an increasing number of women entering the top levels of motorsports. Founder and CEO Jerod Shelby even highlighted this moment as a celebration of the individuals who continue to rewrite expectations in the hypercar world. For SSC North America, the Aggressor's introduction supports the brand's position as a leader in pushing the boundaries of American innovation. It embraces raw horsepower, the addictive feel of aero-loaded cornering, and the pride of small-team craftsmanship competing against global giants. As more builds begin reaching owners, the SSC Aggressor will stand as the most extreme expression of the Tuatara platform, built for those who believe the limit is wherever you choose to set it. Insane SSC Tuatara Striker and Aggressor Hypercars Announced

Designed for a more performance on the track. SSC North America is upping the ante on their hypercar model with the new Tuatara Striker and Aggressors models. The main focus behind the Striker is track handling and downforce capabilities. SSC notes that they have increased the downforce of the Tuatara Striker three-fold, putting about 1,100 lbs across the hypercar when at 160 mph. SSC made this happen through features like the active rear wing, vertical stabilizer, augmented diffuser, directionally-veined side rockers, large front splitter, and integrated front dive planes. Power for the Tuatara Striker comes from the SSC twin-turbo V8 that produces 1,750 horsepower. As for the track-only Tuatara Aggressor, it's essentially the Striker but SSC is giving customers much more freedom to customize with this model. SSC notes that they are "given the freedom to nearly limitless performance, appearance, and experience options not possible in the street legal versions of the Tuatara." Power of the engine can even be upgraded to an astonishing 2,200 horsepower. Bot the SCC Tuatara Striker and Aggressor are in production. Just 100 examples of the Tuatara and Tuatara Striker will be created and only 10 of the Tuatara Aggressor. If you're interested, be sure to reach out to Manhattan Motorcars. SSC Tuatara is Officially the World's Fastest Production ...

Update 2: SSC has gone for a top speed world record yet again and confirmed the results. Update: Since this article was posted, this world record has been disputed. There is now a new world's fastest production car and it just so happens to be the SSC Tuatara hypercar from the United States. The Tuatara is a 1,750 horsepower hypercar that will now go down in history after record-breaking high-speed passes by Oliver Webb. The record-breaking runs took place outside of Las Vegas on a seven-mile stretch of State Route 160. With officials on hand to verify the world record, Webb took off to hit a top speed of 331.15 mph. He then had to complete a second pass within an hour and managed 301.07 mph. His average speed was 316.11 mph. This speed absolutely blows the Koenigsegg Agera RS's speed of 277.87 mph, leaving no doubt that the SSC Tuatara is the world's fastest production car. “It’s been ten years since we held this record with our first car, the Ultimate Aero, and the Tuatara is leagues ahead. Its performance reflects the dedication and focus with which we pursued this achievement,” said Jerod Shelby, CEO of SSC. “We came pretty close to meeting the theoretical numbers, which is astonishing to do in a real world setting on a public road. America’s new claim to victory in the ‘land-based space race’ is going to be tough to beat.” On top of being the world's fastest production vehicle, the SSC Tuatara also holds these world records now: “Fastest Flying Mile on a Public Road” at 313.12 mph (503.92 km/h) “Fastest Flying Kilometer on a Public Road” at 321.35 mph (517.16 km/h) “Highest Speed Achieved on a Public Road” at 331.15 mph (532.93 km/h) Congratulations are in order for SSC North America for absolutely demolishing the previous world record and becoming the manufacturer of the world's fastest production car.
