In light of Ferrari taking over New York City for an unforgettable evening, a one-of-a-kind scale model of a Tailor Made 812 Competizione took the stage as one of the highlighted auction items. Crafted by the Bristol UK-based Amalgam Collection, this unique piece was auctioned off for a jaw-dropping $90,000 at the recent Ferrari Gala Dinner and Auction held in The Shed at Hudson Yards. The gala, a high-profile event that celebrates the luxury and artistry of Ferrari cars, successfully raised $7 million in total, with funds reserved for education-centric projects managed by the New York-based Ferrari Foundation.
Attending the star-studded event were Ferrari F1 drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, who were spotted admiring the complexness of the model. Created from 651 handmade parts and using original CAD data from Ferrari Centro Stile, the 1:8 scale model is a spitting image of the Tailor Made 812 Competizione. It even showcases a matte Giallo Tristrato exterior, achieved using original automotive paints, and a meticulously designed interior featuring next-generation Alcantara and black Superfabric.
Sandy Copeman, Director of Brand at Amalgam, highlighted the company’s dedication to capturing the essence of the car, stating that the beauty of the model lies in its faithfulness to the real deal. Amalgam’s attention to detail caught the eye of Chief Design Officer Flavio Manzoni, who gave it his final stamp of approval. The auctioned Tailor Made 812 Competizione is one of just 999 cars in this exclusive series, showcasing the collaborative strength and shared passion between Ferrari and Amalgam, a relationship that has thrived since 1998. The event serves as a celebration to honor the powerful synergy between luxury automotive craftsmanship and charitable giving, setting a high bar for future collaborations.
