Gulfstream has announced that their new ultralong-range G800 has made its continental debut after a momentous flight. The flight started in Savannah, Georgia, where it took off and flew across the Atlantic Ocean to Geneva, Switzerland, for the 2023 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2023).
“By flying the G800 test aircraft to EBACE2023 this year, we are demonstrating the maturity of this program,” said Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream. “The G800 presents a compelling combination of high-speed aerodynamics and fuel-efficient engines to decrease emissions and save flying time for our customers. Equipped with our latest advancements in technology and innovation, the G800 adds the industry’s longest range to our aircraft portfolio. We are pleased to display a Gulfstream for every mission in Geneva.”
The Gulfstream G800 was unveiled in 2021 as the fastest and furthest-traveling private jet to come from Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. The G800 is a new business jet that offers an impressive range of up to 8,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 and 7,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.90. The G800 is powered by Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines that are designed to take advantage of the aircraft’s special wing and winglet design. This design enhances the G800’s fuel efficiency, allowing it to fly farther and longer on a single tank of fuel.
Inside, Gulfstream notes that the G800 can be configured with up to four different living areas, as well as seating for up to 19 passengers. If it’s a long flight, the G800 can sleep up to 10 passengers.
