From Michelin Star dining to sleek and simple design, the Tampa EDITION offers a new standard of luxury experience unlike any other.
As the greater Tampa Bay Area continues to flourish and evolve into one of the most desirable places to live in the U.S., the city welcomes newcomers and developers looking to showcase its optimal beauty and potential. Making its mark as the first-ever 5-Star hotel in Tampa, the Tampa EDITION by Marriott International recently made its grand debut with an extravagant opening event in the new Water Street Tampa district. EDITION currently operates 14 hotels globally: New York and Times Square New York, London, Miami Beach, West Hollywood, Barcelona, Bodrum, Shanghai, Sanya, China, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Tokyo Toranomon, Reykjavik, and Madrid.
Designed and conceived by ISC Design Studio, in partnership with Morris Adjmi Architects, Nichols Architects, Bonetti Kozerski Architects, and Roman and Williams, the hotel features 172 rooms and 38 private residences that spread over 26 stories. The hotel also features a rooftop terrace with a pool, an expansive spa and wellness facility, fitness center, and seven bars and restaurants. While ISC Design Studio founder Ian Schrager is best known for his involvement in creating hotel icons like NYC’s Studio 54 and Miami’s Delano, the mastermind expresses his excitement for the project by saying “Not often have I had the opportunity to work on a project that will completely transform the very center and heartbeat of a great city like Tampa, and make it even greater,”. The new addition looks to add growth to Tampa’s reputation as a culinary hotspot with world-class shopping, a collection of great museums, and a very progressive nightlife scene.
The Tampa EDITION welcomes guests with an open-flow grand main entrance that boasts elegant interior features. Where most hotel lobbies take furnishings and decors as afterthought pieces, Ian Schrager transformed the 20-foot ceilings into a living breathing jungle with beautiful green plants covering every surface. The EDITION is home to three restaurants (Lilac, Azure, and Market at Edition) led by Michelin-Star Chef John Fraser, who aims to inspire his menus using his expertise and local ingredients from the Tampa Bay Area. The Michelin-Star Chef is also at the helm of the poolside and lobby bars.Chef Fraser’s ultimate goal for his exclusive Mediterranean restaurant Lilac is to leave guests with a feeling of hospitality and a sense of originality. For those looking for a recommendation from Chef John Fraser, one of his favorite dishes is a Grouper Cataplana that is served table side on a presentation cart designed by the chef himself. The Tampa EDITION also offers Arts Club a cocktail bar with light bites and an intimate performance venue and Punch Room.
Kicking off the grand opening of the Tampa EDITION, an exclusive event was held with celebrities, athletes, musicians, and other influential individuals in attendance to celebrate the occasion. The night began at the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Amalie Arena, where rockstar icon Lenny Kravitz played a private concert before continuing the party back across the street at the Tampa EDITION. The night continued with tours of the hotel and its breathtaking amenities such as the rooftop bar and pool, where guests had the opportunity to sample some of the incredible food and drinks from the extensive menus. Celebrating a night to remember, the Tampa EDITION is now welcomed to Tampa Bay as a 5-Star hotel with authenticity and realness that make residents proud of where they reside.
