Nautical design and automotive styling often intersect, and that’s why Sea Ray & BMW have unveiled the Sundancer 370 Outboard. Designworks is a BMW styling group responsible for concept cars, motorcycles and even a few Minis. Needing something special for the Sundancer’s 45th anniversary, this collaboration has yielded inspiration for both brands. One of Sea Ray’s first designers was none other than Harley Earl, the father of the Corvette.
After several design studies addressing the needs and wants of modern boaters, four words emerged: sleek, confident, athletic, and distinctive. Inside, we can see the cabin is just as inviting and practical as a new BMW M4 Competition for sale. This new boat will influence Sea Ray’s future lineup and is for sure not the last collaboration between Designworks and Sea Ray.
