Girard-Perregaux and Yves Saint Laurent are back!
Back in 2021, Girard-Perregaux teamed up with Bamford Watch Department to create a one-of-a-kind watch for the charity auction, Only Watch. Inspired by the original 1976 Casquette, the piece unique featured a combo of forged carbon and titanium, fetching an impressive CHF 100,000 ($111,303), all going towards Duchenne muscular dystrophy research. After eagle-eyed watch collectors and enthusiasts spotted the special Casquette and demanded answers, Girard-Perregaux responded with the black titanium Casquette 2.0 in collaboration with fashion specialists at Yves Saint Laurent. Since its 2022 release was monumentally successful, Girard-Perregaux and Saint Laurent are proud to continue Casquette 2.0’s legacy with a new, limited-edition version reimagined in natural grade 5 titanium.
YSL’s Creative Director Anthony Vaccarelo is at the helm of the Casquette 2.0 Saint-Laurent 02, which is part of an ultra-exclusive release of only 200 pieces. The titanium reference showcases a brilliant silver-gray appearance that pays homage to the classic 70’s styling of the original Casquette, which came in Stainless-Steel, Gold, and Makrolon. At the heart of the Casquette 2.0 lies Girard-Perreguax’s brand-new, in-house GP3980-1474 quartz movement, complete with time, day, date, month, year, chronograph, and GMT functions. An integrated titanium bracelet completes its vintage look and feel while providing a lightweight and comfortable design for the collectors who plan on enjoying the watch daily. The new Girard-Perregaux Casquette 2.0 Saint-Laurent 02 will be exclusively available on Saint Laurent’s Rive Droite online store and at Saint Laurent boutiques in both Pairs and LA for $7,500.
