New World Records set for F.P.Journe, Cartier, Harry Winston, and Bulgari.
Phillips’ New York Watch Auction: XII capped off the season with a perfect sell-through and an impressive $25 million in sales, marking the ninth consecutive “white glove” auction in the city. These results show a strong collector demand for vintage watches and independent watchmakers, with bidding from over 70 countries. Patek Philippe led the charge, including a yellow gold Ref. 1518 that sold for $1.45 million (nearly four times its low estimate) and a rare stainless steel Ref. 570 that brought in over $1 million. Phillips continues to prove that New York is a hot bed for watch auctions, thanks to U.S. collectors and exclusive examples from Rolex, Audemars Piguet, A. Lange & Söhne, and Cartier.
