Ferrari is a respected name in racing, but for a long time, the Prancing Horse was absent from the top class of endurance racing, where the prized victory of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is won. However, it was this year when Ferrari made its return after 50 long years with the 499P race car, with its sights set on winning the 100th 24 Hours of Le Mans race, and that’s exactly what it did. With a contentious race full of incredible hybrid race cars, Ferrari managed to clinch an incredible victory adding one of the most glorious wins to what is already an incredibly decorated racing history. Without a doubt, after such a historic win, Ferrari simply had to make its return home to Maranello, Italy with the trophy special.
A crowd of motorsport and Ferrari fans awaited the cars, which came through the gates of Ferrari’s headquarters entrance at Via Abetone Inferiore, and then made a parade that traveled through the Attività Sportive GT and Scuderia Ferrari area before going through the town center, passing the Ferrari Museum. The centenary trophy was displayed and then added to a lineup of what is now a total of ten Ferrari overall wins at Le Mans, with the last one being earned in 1965, 58 years ago, as well as 29 class wins at the hundred-year-old endurance race.
