The first 100% electric Maserati has been unveiled.
Maserati has just revealed the new GranTurismo, and it’s truly a groundbreaking iteration of the iconic model. Within the 2023 Maserati GranTurismo there are multiple models that include ones powered by internal combustion engines and even a fully-electric variant. There are a lot of exciting details to unpack, so let’s dive in.
First, we’ll start with the 2023 Maserati GranTurismo Folgore, the 100% electric example. Powered by three motors and a 560 kW battery, this electric powertrain provides the two-door coupe with around 760 horsepower to the wheels. Maserati has placed the T-bone-shaped battery primarily along the central tunnel and not underneath the seats. The automaker notes that this was done to lower the Folgore’s H-point.

Next up are the new GranTurismos that rely on gas. The first is GranTurismo Modena which houses a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine capable of 490 horsepower. There’s also a Trofeo version that sees the same powertrain upgraded to 550 horsepower. Additional specifications, such as 0-60 mph time and top speed, have yet to be revealed.
Inside the new GranTurismo variants is a well-equipped cabin that features technology like the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) Multimedia system, and a Sonus faber 3-D sound system that consists of either 14 speakers (standard) or 19 speakers (optional). The optional 19-speaker sound system is capable of being highly customized and can have an output of 1,195W.
Upon launch, the 2023 Maserati GranTurismo will be available in the PrimateSeries 75th Anniversary Launch Edition. This new model will include exclusive features that are unavailable to other iterations.
