A former F1 driver gets behind the wheel of an incredible hypercar.
It was in 2016 when former Formula 1 racing driver Nico Rosberg clinched the Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship, retiring only days after earning the title. However, his passion for racing and for Mercedes-AMG, the team that he raced for, has remained. Recently, Nico Rosberg got to experience the roadgoing take on Mercedes-AMG’s Formula 1 performance excellence by owning the legendary new Mercedes-AMG ONE hypercar, which brings the thrill, speed, power, and engineering of Mercedes-AMG’s F1 cars to the road.
In a new video, Rosberg takes viewers to AMG’s home of Affalterbach, Germany, where he visited to take delivery of the new, highly exclusive hypercar. Finished in a custom Grigio Ferro color (borrowed from the Ferrari palette), the car is a stunning bespoke creation, also boasting the status of being the only Mercedes-AMG ONE with a black Mercedes-Benz star on the front. The black star was a suggestion of Rosberg’s wife, an interior designer. The star is created with 16 layers of paint to appear 3D while maintaining aerodynamic excellence.
With over 1,000 horsepower coming from its hybrid powertrain, ultra-lightweight construction, and racing-focused implements like a DRS and more coming straight from Mercedes-AMG’s F1 efforts, not only is Nico Rosberg’s Mercedes-AMG ONE one of the most impressive hypercars on the market currently, but it is also perfectly fitting to be driven by a former F1 World Champion with the Mercedes-AMG team. With a special delivery and a bespoke configuration, the Mercedes-AMG ONE is a perfect addition to the racing icon’s supercar collection.
