Bentley Motors collaborates with London design studio Forestalgia to unveil ultra-limited edition driving gloves, celebrating 20 years of the iconic Continental GT.
Marking two decades of the Continental GT, Bentley Motors’ modern-era defining grand touring car, a unique collaboration has been concieved between the luxury automaker and Forestalgia, a London-based design studio founded by Emmanuel Lawal. This exclusive project has resulted in a pair ultra-limited edition driving gloves that celebrate the epitome of Bentley craftsmanship and design. Emmanuel Lawal, a global creative and the mind behind Forestalgia, has worked with product engineering studio Areté to incorporate archival design and contemporary fashion into the driving gloves. These ultra-luxury gloves are handmade works of art, meticulously crafted in the UK. They feature surplus leathers and recycled materials from the iconic Bentley Motors Factory in Crewe. The gloves embody the essence of the Bentley GT down to the smallest details. Their color palette of Black Crystal and Racing Green mirrors the optional interior colors of the Continental GT.
Designed with both Bentley and Forestalgia logos, each pair features double-stitched reinforced protective paneling, hand-rolled leather edges, and varying ergonomic perforation, all finished with an eye for exquisite detail that Bentley is renowned for. An intriguing part of the creation process is how Bentley’s craftspeople, who normally work on the leather that encases the GT steering wheel, employed a technique of marking the leather with a kitchen fork. This old-school approach ensures perfectly placed stitching markers with each glove taking over four weeks to make by hand. Now displayed at Bentley Motors’ home, these gloves are set to become collector’s items, gifted to discerning Bentley customers. A fitting tribute to 20 years of the Continental GT, these gloves represent luxury, heritage, and meticulous craftsmanship.
