Honda’s luxury marque, Acura, has been a fixture in the luxury automotive industry since the late 1980s, and, aimed towards the North American market, its ethos has been to combine luxury and sharp design with precision and driver-focused engineering. Several iconic models have characterized the brand over the years, including the MDX SUV, the NSX supercar, which was marketed as an Acura for North America, the Integra sports compact, and the RL flagship sedan.
In modern years, Acura has introduced an all-electric model and also teased a new generation of its RDX SUV, a hybrid fourth generation that is set to debut in the coming years. Before that, Acura is set to unveil a new concept car at this year’s Monterey Car Week, which will serve as a preview of the next generation of the brand’s design language. Creative Director Yasutake Tsuchida is at the helm of the brand’s design, and the concept car’s design language will influence future Acura models, starting with the upcoming hybrid RDX.
The concept will be unveiled at one of Car Week’s most prestigious events, The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, where it will be on display on August 14. After that, the new Acura concept car will then be on display on the Concept Lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 16. Showcasing the upcoming era of Acura’s approach to automotive luxury, the new concept car marks another highly anticipated reveal at this year’s Monterey Car Week.
