Ringbrothers Debut Aston Martin OCTAVIA: A Supercharged 1...

Ringbrothers, the world-renowned custom car builder and parts manufacturer, unveiled its most ambitious project to date – the stunning 1971 Aston Martin DBS “OCTAVIA.” Debuting at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering today, this fully bespoke commission marks both Ringbrothers’ first Aston Martin build and its inaugural showing at one of the most prestigious automotive events in the world. “OCTAVIA” began with a donor 1971 Aston Martin DBS, transformed through more than 12,000 hours of meticulous design, engineering, and craftsmanship. The result is a British motoring icon reborn in carbon fiber and loaded with cutting-edge performance technology. “It’s nearly impossible to convey all the intricacies that went into engineering this car,” said Ringbrothers co-owner Mike Ring. “We’ve combined the ferocity of American muscle with the stiff upper lip of English sophistication and motoring. ‘OCTAVIA’ is beyond anything we’ve built before and a celebration of the hot rodding spirit, unveiled in Monterey on the grandest stage of them all.” The exterior retains the classic silhouette penned by William Towns, but with curves that are sharper, more muscular, and widened – eight inches at the front and ten inches at the rear. Designer Gary Ragle was instrumental in shaping the revised bodywork, the engine bay, the completely bespoke interior, and the countless small details that set the car apart. Under the clamshell hood lies a Ford Performance 5.0-liter V8 with a 2.65-liter Harrop supercharger, delivering 805 horsepower through a six-speed manual gearbox. A custom Roadster Shop FAST TRACK chassis, Fox coilovers, Brembo brakes, and one-off centerlock HRE wheels ensure “OCTAVIA” drives as menacingly as it looks. Inside, carbon fiber, pleated leather, and 3D-printed stainless-steel accents blend modern luxury with handcrafted artistry. The MI6-inspired theme is capped with playful touches, including “Aston Martini” valve covers and a martini-glass dipstick handle. “OCTAVIA is a combination of state-of-the-art fabrication and imagination,” said co-owner Jim Ring. “We asked ourselves, ‘What would an MI6 agent drive on holiday?’ This was the result.” With its breathtaking craftsmanship, world-class performance, and bold creative vision, “OCTAVIA” is a statement piece that redefines what’s possible in bespoke automotive design, and not only keeps the spirit of the 1970s DBS alive – it takes it to another level.
