Aston Martin Unveils DB12 S – A New Pinnacle of Super Tou...

Aston Martin has revealed its newest DB12 halo model for 2026 – the S. Building on the thrilling, driver-focused DB12, this enhanced version pushes the envelope of performance and luxury. With more power, refined chassis dynamics, and an even more expressive exhaust note, the DB12 S is the ultimate evolution of the marque’s celebrated Super Tourer concept. Joining the DBX S and Vantage S, the DB12 S continues Aston Martin’s long-standing tradition of reserving the ‘S’ badge for its highest-performing derivatives. This lineage stretches back to 1953 with the DB3S road racer and includes icons such as the Vanquish S, V8 and V12 Vantage S, and the Rapide S. Elevated Power and Precision At the heart of the new DB12 S lies an even more potent iteration of Aston Martin’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. Now producing 700 PS at 6,000 rpm and 800 Nm of torque between 3,000 and 6,000 rpm, the DB12 S sprints to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 202 mph. In keeping with its intensified character, the DB12 S features a distinctive new quad-tailpipe stainless steel sports exhaust system, tuned to enhance engine frequencies across the rev range. For enthusiasts seeking an even more visceral soundtrack, an optional titanium exhaust reduces weight by 11.7 kilograms while amplifying sound levels by 1.5 decibels. Aston Martin engineers have refined the car’s Launch Control system, cutting gearshift times by more than 50% and improving acceleration. The S-specific drive-by-wire throttle delivers greater precision, offering drivers a more progressive and intuitive connection to the car’s immense power. Sharpened Handling, Greater Agility Aston Martin has extensively reworked the DB12 S chassis for superior handling and feedback. Recalibrated Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers, a stiffer rear anti-roll bar, and optimized camber, toe, and caster settings bring sharper front-end response and improved agility. The steering calibration and electronic rear differential have also been fine-tuned for a more natural, communicative feel. The result is a car that delivers an impeccable balance of agility, stability, and confidence – one that encourages drivers to push harder, earlier, and with greater control from corner entry to exit. “The technology we introduced with the DB12 now allows us exceptional scope to explore a new depth of character and capability within the same vehicle platform,” said Simon Newton, Aston Martin Director of Vehicle Performance. “With DB12 S we have carefully engineered a host of detailed changes, which preserve signature levels of refinement, boost vehicle performance and amplify driver engagement. Having added this greater dynamic and performance bandwidth to DB12 S, we believe this elevates the Super Tourer ethos to a thrilling new level.” Carbon Ceramic Brakes and Predictive Control Every DB12 S comes standard with Carbon Ceramic Brakes (CCB) – massive 410 mm rotors up front and 360 mm in the rear. These reduce unsprung weight by 27 kilograms compared to steel brakes while providing exceptional fade resistance, linear pedal feel, and consistent performance. The DB12 S also introduces the latest generation of Corner Braking Control (CBC), a system that integrates Brake Slip Control and Vehicle Control modules for optimal stability and torque vectoring. By using predictive algorithms, the CBC system enables later, more confident braking, maintaining tighter cornering lines even during trail braking. Distinctive Design, Inside and Out Visually, the DB12 S exudes performance through purposeful design. The front end features a new dual-element splitter and functional bonnet louvres, both enhancing aerodynamics while visually lowering and widening the car’s stance. Gloss black sill extensions flow seamlessly into the new rear diffuser, framing the stacked quad exhausts and a fixed rear spoiler that boosts high-speed stability. Handmade ‘S’ badges in bright or dark chrome, finished with red glass enamel, mark the car as the pinnacle of DB12 performance. Inside, the DB12 S continues Aston Martin’s blend of bespoke craftsmanship and modern sophistication. Unique interior elements include a red anodized drive mode controller, matching contrast stitching and seatbelt detailing, and optional Alcantara® heated sports steering wheel. Buyers can choose from three interior themes – Accelerate, Inspire S semi-aniline, and Inspire S full semi-aniline leather – all featuring S Herringbone quilting and micro-perforations. Standard equipment includes 16-way Sport Plus electric seats, while performance-focused owners can opt for the Carbon Fibre Performance seat. Ordering Now Open The Aston Martin DB12 S will be available in Coupe and Volante body styles, with deliveries beginning in Q1 2026. Pricing is yet to be confirmed by Aston, but is expected to be in the region of $270,000 (Coupe) and $290,000 (Volante). With its elevated performance, refined craftsmanship, and unmistakable Aston Martin DNA, the DB12 S redefines what it means to be a modern Super Tourer – a car as thrilling to drive as it is to behold. Miller Motorcars Delivers An Exposed Carbon Aston Martin ...

Just when you think there couldn't be a cooler Valkyrie spec, Aston Martin brings gold into the mix. Since its debut to the automotive world as Aston Martin's next track-focused hypercar, the Valkyrie has gained traction as the closest experience to driving an actual Formula 1 race car. Recently, customers have been taking delivery of their Valkyrie, Valkyrie Spider, and Valkyrie AMR Pro spec trackside at world-class facilities like Monticello Motor Club, with one-on-one training with professional Aston Martin drivers. And while we've witnessed some truly spectacular configurations, none quite carry the level of craftsmanship and customization as the Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider delivered by the team at Miller Motorcars of Greenwich, CT. This one-off Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider is the kind of build that reminds you why cars like this exist in the first place. The entire body is finished in exposed carbon fiber, and then Aston Martin went all-in with real 24-karat gold details. The exposed carbon fiber bodywork shows off every curve, crease, and aerodynamic cutout, while the gold accents give it a look you can't stop staring at. The Aston Martin badge on the front bumper is real gold, thin enough to barely add weight, but thick enough to catch your eye under the clear coat. Even the roof scoop gets the treatment, trimmed in engine-turned gold as it feeds air into the massive dorsal intake. The theme carries across the suspension, aero components, and wheels, making this Valkyrie Spider feel like a rolling sculpture that just happens to be able to hit insane speeds. Step inside and the small details keep coming. Instead of the usual Aston Martin Wings stitched into the headrests, the owner went with classic Aston Martin script in gold embroidery, a subtle but clever nod to the rest of the design. The cabin itself keeps the focused, track-ready vibe you'd expect from a Valkyrie, but the personalized touches give it just enough character to feel completely unique. You can tell the owner wanted something special without overdoing it. Of course, the centerpiece is still the engine. The Valkyrie Spider packs a naturally aspirated 6.5L Cosworth V12 that makes 1,001 horsepower, paired with hybrid tech to keep things modern and brutally quick. The gold-trimmed roof scoop isn't just for show, as it feeds air into that monster powerplant, keeping it breathing at high revs. Between the looks, the sound, and the sheer performance, this build takes an already legendary car and makes it unforgettable. For the new owner, it's a once-in-a-lifetime track machine that'll never be replicated. All Miller Motorcars Inventory Source: @millermotorcars/@autofocusnyc Instagram

Daniel Ricciardo’s Bespoke Aston Martin Valkyrie Heads to...

Broad Arrow will present Daniel Ricciardo’s Aston Martin Valkyrie at the 2025 Zoute Concours Auction, offering collectors a rare chance at motorsport history. When it comes to hypercars, few names carry as much attention as the Aston Martin Valkyrie. Built as the ultimate road-going variation of a Formula 1 car, it represents the rare moment where a production car feels more like a track weapon. This October, Broad Arrow will give collectors a once-in-a-lifetime chance to own one, made even more special because it was personally commissioned and owned by Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo. Crossing the block at the inaugural Zoute Concours Auction, Ricciardo’s Valkyrie is a slice of modern motorsport history that will surely bring a buzz to the room. The Valkyrie itself is already legendary, engineered in partnership between Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing with direction from renowned designer Adrian Newey. Under its lightweight, aerodynamic body sits a Cosworth-built 6.5L naturally aspirated V12, paired with a hybrid KERS system, producing 1,000 horsepower with a redline north of 11,000 rpm. For Daniel Ricciardo, who was racing with Red Bull during the Valkyrie’s early development, it was love at first sight. He described it by saying, “It feels like a race car, and it looks like a race car. I’m not used to having a roof over my head, but that’s the only thing that feels different.” His example, chassis number 089, stands apart for the details that make it uniquely his. Ricciardo went deep into Aston Martin’s bespoke “Q” division to guarantee the Valkyrie mirrored his style. Painted in Dichroic Dawn, a £30,000 ($40,250) color he nicknamed “Badger Blue,” the car pays homage to his famous “Honey Badger” nickname while also showing off the Valkyrie’s curves and aero-focused design. Inside, black Alcantara and exposed satin carbon continue the no-compromise theme. Even the steering wheel and bucket seats feature bespoke touches with contrasting stitching and anodized switches. With fewer than 99 miles showing on the odometer, it’s practically brand-new, making this one of the most untouched Valkyries to hit the market since production ended in 2024. Broad Arrow’s Zoute Concours Auction will feature around 70 collectible cars, but Ricciardo’s Valkyrie is the undeniable showstopper. With an estimate of €2.4–2.8 million ($3.2-3.7 million), it’s prepared to draw the attention of serious collectors who want the pinnacle of Aston Martin performance and a car directly linked to an F1 driver. For enthusiasts, it’s the closest thing to experiencing Formula 1 on the road, and the fact that this one was spec’d by Ricciardo adds an extra layer of desirability that can’t be replicated. Adding to the excitement, Broad Arrow will also present another rare Aston Martin creation, the AMB 001 motorcycle, a collaboration with Brough Superior limited to just 100 units. With its turbocharged V-twin engine, carbon-fiber bodywork, and Aston’s featherlight “lacewing” badge shared with the Valkyrie, it serves as a reminder that Aston extends well beyond cars. The ‘S’ Returns: 2026 Aston Martin Vantage S Is Track-Tun...

Aston Martin has just taken the wraps off the latest evolution of its iconic front-engined sports car: this is the 2026 Vantage S. Following up on the DBX ‘S’ SUV announced in late April, the Vantage S will make its debut at this week’s 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, and builds upon the muscular DNA of the standard Vantage. Now, for those unaware, the "S" designation in Aston Martin's lineup has historically signified a sportier, sharper, and more performance-focused variant. Its roots can be traced back to the 1953 DB3S race car and have subsequently appeared on everything from the Rapide to the Vanquish. When it comes to the Vantage specifically, since its rebirth in the mid-2000s, it has served as Aston’s most driver-focused offering. But it was the V8 Vantage S, launched in 2011, that really turned up the heat. Then came the V12 Vantage S in 2013 with the massive 5.9-liter mill. The 2017 V12 Vantage S would be the last to carry the torch with a raw, dog-leg manual-only setup that enthusiasts still lament. While the V12 Vantage has since made a comeback, the S badge is now back, and here’s how it stacks up against the standard Vantage. 2026 Aston Martin Vantage S Performance Source: Aston Martin Let’s kick things off with performance. Under the hood, the new Vantage S features an uprated version of the AMG-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, now delivering 671 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. A modest gain over the standard Vantage’s already formidable 656 horsepower, yes, but the powerband has been broadened for a flatter torque curve, which should offer sharper in-gear acceleration. A bespoke drive-by-wire throttle map has been calibrated for each of the Drive Modes, offering a throttle pedal resistance and responsiveness that aligns with the ‘S’ characteristics.  Zero to 60 mph now comes up in 3.3 seconds ( which is 0.1 quicker than the standard model), while the top speed remains unchanged at a supercar-grade 202 mph.  But the S is so much more than just straight-line metrics. Aston’s Engineers have worked extensively on improving the dynamics. The re-tuned Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers have been calibrated for improved response, while the transmission mount stiffness has been lowered by 10%. The Rear subframe mounts have been switched from rubber to solid, which Aston says should deliver an improved steering feel. Meanwhile, suspension geometry has been recalibrated with camber, toe, and caster tweaked to increase grip during high lateral loads. Carbon ceramic brakes are standard. The result is a car more confident on the limit, has improved front-end grip, a softer ride, and a package that doesn’t compromise on daily usability. Specification Aston Martin Vantage S Aston Martin Vantage Engine 4.0L twin-turbo V8 (AMG-sourced) 4.0L twin-turbo V8 (AMG-sourced) Power 671 hp 656 hp Torque 590 lb-ft 590 lb-ft Transmission 8-speed ZF automatic 8-speed ZF automatic 0–60 mph 3.3 seconds 3.4 seconds Top Speed 202 mph 202 mph Dry Weight 3,538 lbs 3,538 lbs Exterior Design Now, visually, the changes may not be very obvious, but some ‘S’ specific touches set it apart from the standard Vantage. Upfront, the gloss black or carbon fiber hood blades not only add more drama, but also act as functional heat extractors for the hot-V configured V8 powerplant. Red highlights on the front lip, sills, the rear diffuser, and ‘S’ specific 21-inch Y-spoke satin black wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires separate the S from its sibling.  A full-width sculpted rear spoiler generates 97 pounds of downforce at top speed, contributing to the overall 245-pound package, which works with redesigned underbody aero and new front venturi vanes. Additional highlights also include things like the “S”  badges, which are forged in brass, filled with red enamel, and plated in chrome. Where the standard model Vantage is mostly about elegance, the S, with its combination of blacked-out elements, exudes aggression. You can further make it your own by choosing from a plethora of optional exterior shades, colors for the brake calipers, wheel graphics, liveries, and exterior packages. Interior Design The “S” theme continues on board, right from the embroidered Aston Wing, which features 2,500 individual stitches, to a red or silver anodized knurled rotary drive selector that matches the seatbelts and stitching. Where the standard Vantage S cabin features a unique Alcantara and leather blend with carbon fiber inlays, you can also opt for the Inspire Sport package that adds semi-aniline leather, duotone finishes, and perforated chevron quilting. But despite all this flair, one thing is notably absent: a manual transmission. Aston has committed to the tried-and-tested 8-speed ZF automatic, which sends power exclusively to the rear wheels, much like the base Vantage. 12-way heated sports seats are standard, but you can also opt for sportier carbon fiber performance seats, choose from a mono-tone or dual-tone trim split, and choose to add more carbon and a premium audio system from Bowers & Wilkins.  2026 Aston Martin Vantage S Price & Availability Often considered the 'baby' of the Aston range, the current generation of the Vantage no longer plays second fiddle, and this is especially true after its comprehensive 2024 makeover that brought the much bigger grille and side blade and also a mainstay in motorsports in the GT3 category. The return of the “S” badge marks a pivotal moment for Aston Martin’s long-established front-engined sports car, and while it won’t bring back the stick, it does enhance the Vantage in several ways. The 2025 Vantage S will take on the likes of the Mercedes-AMG GT and even the Ferrari Amalfi, unveiled last week. While pricing hasn’t been announced, expect a premium of roughly over the standard Vantage’s near 200k starting MSRP, and this is without options. For some context, the 2017 V12 Vantage S Coupe cost $16,000 more than its base counterpart. Available in both coupe and roadster bodystyles, deliveries begin in Q4 of 2025.  View All Aston Martin Vantages For Sale Source: Aston Martin

Aston Martin Debuts The New DBX S As The Next Generation ...

The DBX continues it legacy as Aston Martin's entry into the super-SUV segment. Performance SUVs have overtaken the automotive world, combining supercar power with everyday practicality. Even the top supercar brands have had to step in, reimagining their DNA to create spacious, high-horsepower super-SUVs. For Aston Martin and its involvement as a pioneer in the industry, the DBX paved a new path in 2019 as its first-ever SUV model, attracting a whole new community of owners who enjoy daily driving their supercars. After six successful years of the DBX, including the addition of the track-inspired DBX707, Aston Martin is back to announce the arrival of the newest flagship SUV, the DBX S. View All Aston Martin DBXs For Sale The Aston Martin DBX S takes the familiar shape of the DBX707 and dials in bold styling characteristics for a sharper look. Up front, the black vaned grille with a polycarbonate honeycomb option is drawn from the DBS 770 Ultimate. Updated aero like the splitter and diffuser reinforces the clean but aggressive look, while side skirts with functional air splitters help manage air travel. Optional carbon fiber trim for the mirror caps and strakes adds a precise touch, and the ‘S’ badge on the fenders signals its performance intent without going over the top. For those after a bit more substance in the details, lightweight magnesium wheels and a carbon fiber roof reduce weight and lower the center of gravity. Step inside, and the DBX S continues to focus on purposeful luxury. The overall layout remains familiar to Aston Martin, but subtle updates improve the experience. A bespoke in-house infotainment system sits at the center, and the material options reflect the balance between sport and luxury. Reduced weight carries over here too, including the option for lighter trim elements like a new honeycomb grille design. The seating position, feedback from controls, and visual updates suggest the DBX S wants to be driven with intent, not just cruised in comfort. Under the hood, things get more interesting. Borrowing turbo technology from the upcoming Valhalla, the upgraded twin-turbo 4.0L V8 now makes 717 horsepower, with quicker throttle response and a 0-62 mph sprint of just 3.3 seconds. An optional modified exhaust system highlights the V8’s natural sound, while the DBX S’s lighter weight and updated gearbox tuning sharpen the overall drive. The advanced all-wheel-drive system varies torque split dynamically and is paired with recalibrated air suspension and roll control. This is less about topping charts and more about how connected it feels on the road, which might be where the DBX S finds its biggest win. View All Aston Martin DBXs For Sale Source: Aston Martin

2025 Aston Martin DBX707 Unveiled With A DB12-Inspired In...

When we tested the Aston Martin DBX707 for the first time last year, we found that it achieved practically all its ambitious goals. It was a rowdy 697-horsepower family hauler with stellar looks that delivered plenty of thrills. However, the one thing that held it back was, without a doubt, its interior. Flash forward 12 months, and the British carmaker just unveiled the refreshed 2025 Aston Martin DBX707 with not just a subtly updated interior but a genuinely redesigned cabin. Positioned as the brand's only SUV offering moving forward, the 707 is gunning for the luxury SUV world's top spot. At first glance, you'd be forgiven for thinking that the DBX's exterior remains unchanged because it mostly does. Look closely, and you'll see the SUV get AM's redesigned badge, presenting door handles, and a new side view mirror design incorporated to improve the capabilities of this SUV's driver assistance systems. Five new shades join the 2025 Aston Martin DBX707's color palette: Epsilon Black, Helios Yellow, Sprint Green, Malachite Green, and Aura Green. While its available wheel designs remain unchanged, you can now opt for a Satin Black finish on the 23-inch Fortis wheel and Copper Bronze on the 23-inch Forged wheel. Inside is where the 2025 Aston Martin DBX707 gets the most significant updates, gaining a DB12-inspired cabin with updated tech, new materials, and more standard equipment. The cabin's layout has changed significantly, now embedding a 12.3-inch screen to serve as its instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch central screen to house AM's all-new infotainment system. The system no longer relies on an outdated Mercedes-Benz system and offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Alongside plenty of USB-C connections, the DBX's new tech connects directly with Aston Martin's mobile app. To complement these upgrades, Aston Martin now includes its 800-watt 14-speaker premium audio system as standard on the 707. Like the DB12, the 2025 Aston Martin DBX707 benefits from a redesigned steering wheel with added functionality and an updated center console that thankfully prioritizes using physical buttons for key features. This cabin's transformation is complete with subtle details such as new door handles and vertically oriented air vents. To showcase these new elements, Aston Martin purposely enlarged the veneer panels on the doors so a wider variety of available materials could be customized. Aston Martin plans to offer three interior trims: Inspire Comfort, Inspire Sport, and Accelerate with Alcantara, each designed to morph the cabin's vibe with various materials, not unlike the previous DBX707. The centerpiece of the 2025 Aston Martin DBX707, its twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 remains untouched. It still develops the same 697-hp output; thus, expect this SUV's acceleration performance to stay the same. That's not necessarily a bad thing, given that it should still scoot to 60 mph in around 3.1 seconds. The British carmaker updated this SUV's dampers with new software to improve its handling dynamics further. Aston Martin expects the DBX707 to enter production in Q2 of 2024 and deliveries to begin in the same quarter.

The 2025 Aston Martin Vantage Is More Than A Refresh

Although spy shots published over the last 12 months hinted at the 2025 Aston Martin Vantage being, like the DB12, more of a refresh than an all-new car, no one could've predicted just how far the British marque would push it. Today's announcement officially unveiling the car confirms that Aston didn't just lightly update the Vantage. Instead, it implemented a long list of significant changes, all in the pursuit of turning its sports car into a proper driver's car. The new Vantage sets out to correct the shortcomings that kept its predecessor from becoming a true segment leader. Its twin-turbo V8 now produces a massive 656 horsepower while its suspension and chassis receive major revisions to handle the extra output. Inside, its cabin gets a ground-up redesign, complete with a tech suite that finally allows the Vantage to compete with the industry's best. On the outside, Aston's sports car benefits from heavily restyled bodywork that delivers a more aggressive take on the brand's elegant styling cues. On paper, it seems Aston Martin has given the new Vantage plenty of firepower to be more than just competitive. Although the 2025 Aston Martin Vantage carries over some of its predecessor's bodywork, like portions of its rear end, its front sports a clean-sheet design. Aside from its body being 1.2 inches wider than that of the car it replaces, Aston adorned it with a front grille that is 38 percent larger, improving airflow by 29 percent. Two smaller intakes flank it and route cool air to this car's redesigned cooling system. A new set of Matrix LED headlights, a redesigned hood, and wider fenders round out the exterior changes up front. The Vantage now comes standard with 21-inch wheels to support its more aggressive bodywork. Along the sides of the car, a prominent body line contours the air as it exits the front wheel well, accented by frameless door mirrors and redesigned presenting door handles. Towards the back, the Vantage gets a wider rear bumper with larger air vents and bigger exhaust tips. As we've seen with other luxury brands, Aston Martin expanded customization options through its Q program, allowing buyers to create more unique builds. These options build on top of the Vantage's 21 standard colors. The new Vantage carries over its predecessor's twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8. However, thanks to larger turbochargers, modified cam profiles, updated compression ratios, and a redesigned cooling system, it now develops 656 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. That's 153 hp and 85 pound-feet over its predecessor, confirming that some of the engine upgrades that make the DBX 707 so powerful have begun to trickle down. The Vantage remains a rear-wheel drive-only sports car. A ZF eight-speed automatic sends all of its power to the back tires, allowing it to sprint to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and top out at 202 mph. Performance stats aside, Aston shortened its final drive ratio to improve acceleration and driver enjoyment. Meanwhile, a new launch control system, coupled with an electronic differential, allows drivers to dial in how much wheel slip they'd like via a new adjustable traction control system. The outgoing car's greatest limitation was its handling. Although the previous Vantage produced tons of power, it struggled to put down or confidently tackle twisty roads. In response, Aston significantly stiffened the Vantage's chassis with components that link its front suspension towers like its updated engine cross brace. The rear towers receive a similar treatment and revisions to the car's front and rear undertrays. According to Aston, these updates give the new Vantage a 50:50 weight distribution and improved handling balance and driver feedback. To capitalize on the added torsional rigidity, the Vantage receives Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers, an electronic rear differential, and model-specific Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires measuring 275/35 upfront and 325/30 in the rear. 15.8 and 14.2-inch cast-iron brakes come standard, along with a retuned brake booster to deliver a firmer pedal and improved response. Carbon ceramic brakes are available as an optional extra and reduce unsprung weight by around 60 pounds. Inside, the 2025 Aston Martin Vantage sports a completely redesigned interior. Styled similarly to the DB12's this new cabin sports new seat options, a vastly updated tech suite, and improved materials. As standard, the Vantage benefits from a new 10.25-inch central touchscreen that finally supports Apple CarPlay connectivity, although the carmaker has yet to announce Android Auto compatibility. It runs Aston's new in-house infotainment system, which first debuted in the DB12. The angled center display complements a new digital instrument cluster and a redesigned center console that benefits from a more streamlined layout. Calling the 2025 Aston Martin Vantage just a refresh is an understatement. The British carmaker has gone to great lengths to update this car's exterior styling, powertrain, and cabin, creating an all-new car without technically doing so. Although the carmaker has yet to announce official pricing figures, the Vantage is expected to enter production in Q1 2024 with deliveries expected to begin in Q2 2024.

The Aston Martin DB5 Celebrates 60 Years Of Automotive Ex...

As the Aston Martin DB5 hits the 60-year milestone, we dive into its storied past and present, along with its timeless appeal. When it comes to iconic automobiles, few can hold a candle to the Aston Martin DB5. Sixty years ago, Aston Martin introduced the DB5, immediately solidifying its status as one of Britain’s most desirable luxury brands. As Aston Martin celebrates its 60th anniversary, DB5 remains a head-turner, most recently commanding attention at the Goodwood Revival festival in Sussex. Alongside it was the DB12, Aston Martin's latest model, showcasing how the brand's DNA continues to evolve while paying homage to its successful past. Aston Martin’s Executive Chairman Lawrence Stroll, a DB5 owner, commended the car for laying the "foundations of our identity as a British luxury brand synonymous with style, performance, and exclusivity." In 1963, Aston Martin was already popular thanks to its DB4, but the DB5 took things to a new level. Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the car boasted a range of improvements, most notably a 4.0L engine putting out 282 horsepower. Icons from Sir Paul McCartney to Mick Jagger have been part of the DB5 club. The DB5 is a masterpiece of British engineering, produced in limited numbers (only 887 saloons, to be precise) at Aston Martin’s Newport Pagnell factory. Despite its limited production, the DB5 was instrumental in skyrocketing Aston Martin from a niche British sports car maker to a global automotive superstar. While the DB5 remains a cornerstone in automotive history, Aston Martin isn’t resting there. The all-new DB12, introduced as the world’s first Super Tourer, is proof that the brand is committed to innovation without sacrificing what made it great in the first place. ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE F1 1

By Gabriel Vega –  January 20, 2022

2022 Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition Review: A Great New ...

Throughout its 108-year history, Aston Martin has produced some of the best-looking cars ever to hit the road. From the now-iconic DB5 driven by James Bond to the concept-car styling of the One-77, the British carmaker has one of the strongest greatest hits lists in the entire industry. Despite their jaw-dropping looks, I don't think I've ever been blown away by how an Aston drives. However, the tester I've been driving this week is set to change that thought, highlighting the brand's bright future. The model in question is the 2022 Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition, and it's truly impressive.  A More Aggressive Aston Martin Right off the bat, you'll notice that the Vantage F1 Edition's design isn't as traditionally "beautiful" as some of its siblings. That's because the F1 Edition trades some of the Vantage's subtle design elements for a more imposing aesthetic. Take the redesigned front bumper, for example. Instead of a sleek grille, we get a massive mouth that seemingly spans the width of the car. Despite its "look at me" attitude, Aston's designers have managed to make this striking element feel cohesive with the rest of the car's design. In the rear, it's a similar story. That's because you now get a wing alongside the already aggressive rear diffuser. Couple those improvements with the new front splitter, and you get more than 440-lb of downforce. As a result, the visual enhancements are both for form and function. The cherry on top is a set of 21-inch wheels on all four corners with matte black spokes and silver faces. It's clear that the Vantage F1 Edition is the most track-focused version of the Vantage, and that's all before you even get moving.  A Mercedes-AMG Heart Tuned For Drivers Lift the 2022 Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition's hood, and you'll find a Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 developing 528 hp and 505 lb-ft of torque. The Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition's engine provides enough power to rocket the F1 Edition and its 3461-lb curb weight to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. All of the Vantage F1 Edition's horsepower and torque go to the rear wheels exclusively via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Aside from housing one of my favorite engines currently on sale, the F1 Edition makes a fantastic sound, befitting of its aggressive aesthetic.  Before we dive into the driving experience, it is worth noting one of the main reasons why this Vantage F1 Edition is a departure from the standard Vantage. In 2020, the former CEO of Mercedes-AMG, Tobias Moers, became the new CEO of Aston Martin. For context, Moers gave us some of the best AMG cars of the last two decades, such as the CLK 63 Black Series, SLS AMG, G 63 6X6, and the GT. The GT is significant since it shares a similar formula to the current Vantage, including the same powertrain. However, it seems most of Moers' work went into tuning the Vantage's chassis and suspension. After a quick set of corners in the canyons, it became clear that the F1 Edition is both more fun and responsive than any Aston I had driven previously. Additionally, the F1 Edition feels significantly more planted and less tail-happy than the standard Vantage. This not only allows your confidence in the car to grow but allows you to carry greater speed.  The added capabilities come as a result of that extensively revised suspension. For example, the F1 Edition features stiffer springs in the rear, upgraded bushings, and revised dampeners on all four corners. It even has additionally dampening for the transaxle transmission. The goal is to minimize additional movement to stabilize the car. The automatic transmission becomes a bit of a non-issue once you get up to speed. While a dual-clutch would've made the driving experience even sharper, the automatic does a great job under load. While I've always known the Vantage had a fantastic engine under its hood, it now has the handling characteristics to match.  Despite its upgraded suspension and track-ready improvements, the Vantage F1 Edition remains perfectly comfortable on the road. While its ride isn't Rolls-Royce smooth, it also isn't bouncy and compromised as plenty of today's track-day specials. I was testing an SUV alongside this Aston on the same week, and I'd argue that the low-slung supercar was the most comfortable of the two. A Colorful Well-Built Interior Traditionally, when we're talking about hand-built cars, it's not uncommon to find a couple of imperfections throughout a car's interior; it comes with the territory. However, the 2022 Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition's interior I tested seemed to be an exception to this rule. From the stitching to the contrasting suede and leather materials, the F1 Edition's interior felt particularly well built. Even at speed, I wasn't disturbed by any weird rattles or creaks. Additionally, the leather and suede materials' physical quality felt excellent, befitting of a car costing $177,000 as tested.  My only gripes with the F1 Edition's interior are shared with the standard Vantage, and that's the dashboard layout. While the materials are excellent, the interior offers a sea of buttons laid out closely together, making them hard to operate while on the move. The real shocker for me was the lack of available Apple CarPlay or Android Auto connectivity. While the native infotainment system is fine, the lack of smartphone integration was a bummer.  Small gripes aside, the Vantage F1 Edition's column-mounted shifters were a joy to use, especially around the canyon roads surrounding Los Angeles. Even the slightly squared-off wheel and digital instrument cluster work well together, providing you just the right amount of information with a large tach in the center.  Is the 2022 Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition worth $177,000? To say that I was impressed by the 2022 Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition would be an understatement. Aside from the excellent driving dynamics at speed, the on-road comfort and usability made me want to jump into this car repeatedly and drive. More than anything, I am looking forward to Aston Martin's new direction. As noted earlier, the British carmaker has received tons of investment in the last few years, along with some significant staff changes. If this latest Vantage is anything to go by, there is much to look forward to with this brand. So, yes, the 2022 Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition price is worth it. All Aston Martin Vantages For Sale
