RM Sotheby’s concluded its third annual ModaMiami auction with a dynamic evening sale at The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, presenting 94 lots across automobiles and rare automobilia with a pre-sale estimate of approximately $85 million.
The auction once again formed the centerpiece of the ModaMiami weekend, drawing global collectors and enthusiasts for a curated range of cars spanning everything from vintage beauties to prewar classics and contemporary hypercars. duPont REGISTRY provided live commentary throughout the event, delivering real-time insights as the action unfolded on the auction floor, with plenty of bidding wars from buyers both in the room and online.
The top result of the sale was a 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider by Scaglietti (Lot 145), which achieved $7,045,000. The iconic open V12 Ferrari led a strong group of blue-chip Maranello offerings and reaffirmed continued demand for historically significant, coachbuilt Ferrari models.
Modern halo cars generated significant buzz. A 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari (Lot 183) realized $6,880,000, while a 1992 Ferrari F40 (Lot 164) achieved $5,230,000, highlighting sustained strength for Ferrari’s key performance flagships.
Among contemporary hypercars, a 2024 Bugatti Bolide (Lot 157) brought $4,955,000, whereas a single-owner 2017 Pagani Huayra Roadster (Lot 179) sold for $3,415,000, and a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT crossed the block at $3,305,000, reinforcing continued demand for analog era supercars.
Coming back to Ferrari, this time both front-engined, a 1969 Ferrari 365 GTS by Pininfarina (Lot 138), achieved $2,590,000, while a 2023 Ferrari 812 Competizione A (Lot 128), realized $2,645,000. A street-legal 2020 McLaren Senna GTR LM25 by Lanzante (Lot 154) achieved $2,205,000, and a 2006 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 (Lot 190) further demonstrated market depth, selling for $2,122,500, rounding out the top 10 results.
The diverse docket also included notable prewar American vintage cars, competition cars, and continuation models, highlighting the breadth of the offering and the global appeal of ModaMiami.
With strong results across multiple collecting categories, RM Sotheby’s ModaMiami 2026 reaffirmed the market’s continued appetite for not only historically significant classics but also modern hypercars, a trend already seen in the opening stint of the 2026 season with the mega results witnessed across multiple auction venues in January.
The momentum in Miami will continue as the collector car world now turns its attention to Amelia Island next weekend, where the season’s next chapter is set to unfold.
