Chevrolet is Auctioning 4 Bumblebee Camaros at Barrett-Ja...

Children of the 80's remember Bumblebee as a hero of the Autobots. To keep a low profile, the superhero Transformer was based on a lowly VW Beetle. Now that the new Bumblebee film is going back to the original story, Chevrolet is auctioning four unique Bumblebee Camaros at Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale auction. Yes, it is a GTO underneath They consist of hero cars from Transformers (2007), which was modded for Revenge of the Fallen (2010). This was actually a highly-modified Pontiac GTO because the production 5th Gen Camaro wasn't ready in time for either film. The next cars are the 2010 Camaro seen in "Dark Side of the Moon", a 2013 car from "Age of Extinction", and the 2016 Camaro from "The Last Knight". All four cars will be sold as one lot, with the entire hammer price going to benefit Operation Homefront. They are a national non-profit that seeks to build strong and stable families for active military and veterans. We will be at the auction from January 15th until the 20th, so stop by our booth to see a wild display and be sure to stay with us for all your Barrett-Jackson news. View All Camaros For Sale

RM Sotheby's Petersen Museum Auction 2018 Results

If you are looking for a great location for anything automotive, the Petersen Museum should be at the top of your list. With over 100 cars & bikes on display, it was the setting for RM Sotheby's auction last weekend.  The results are in, and we see a few new trends in the industry.  10th Place- 1965 Lamborghini 350 GT $555,000 9th Place- 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Villa d'Este $637,000 David Bush ©2018 Courtesy of RM Sotheby's 8th Place- 2005 Porsche Carrera GT $775,000 Karissa Hosek ©2018 Courtesy of RM Sotheby's 7th Place- 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta $775,000 ©2018 Courtesy of RM Sotheby's 6th Place- 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing $1,270,000 Darin Schnabel ©2018 Courtesy of RM Sotheby's 5th Place- 2015 McLaren P1 $1,435,000 Motorcar Studios ©2018 Courtesy of RM Sotheby's 4th Place- 2018 Porsche 918 Weissach Spyder $1,534,000 3rd Place- 1989 Ferrari F40- $1,545,000 Motorcar Studios ©2018 Courtesy of RM Sotheby's 2nd Place- 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV for $2,205,000   Karissa Hosek ©2018 Courtesy of RM Sotheby's And in 1st place was Lot 24, a Classiche-certified 1956 Ferrari 290 MM. In my humble opinion, spending under a million dollars for a Ferrari Daytona is a deal of a lifetime. A 1971 Lamborghini Miura was $13,000 new which translates to $82,000 adjusted for inflation. What a solid investment that would have been!  Also Check Out: Ferrari 488 Spiders For Sale 2018 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta Specs, Price, Photos, & Review What Is The Fastest Ferrari?

Preview of Mecum’s Kissimmee 2019 Auction

Orlando is home to the theme parks and tourist attractions, but the real action happens a few minutes south. That’s because Mecum Auctions already has over 2,000 cars lined up on their way to 3,500 for  their premier Florida auction beginning the first weekend in January. What better way to escape winter than join us at the Osceola Heritage Park. Less than 10 miles from the sights & sounds of International Drive, here are the top 10 cars we will be waiting to see.  2014 Ferrari LaFerrari Ferrari's first hypercar, it has 418 miles and $37,589 in special options. It has carbon fiber fog lights, black calipers, along with special order Rosso Fuoco paint. The carbon fiber ground effects are almost $22,000, so don't miss this 1 of 1 example. View Details 1963 Corvette Z06 Big Tank Fuelie The first year for the Corvette Z06, the performance brakes and suspension could be ordered with a 36-Gallon tank for endurance racing. These were meant to support race teams by building cars ready for the track.  View Details 1967 Corvette Big Block Convertible The last year of the C2 body has many unique features. Ordered in triple black, it has both the hard and soft tops, and a well-documented 24,000 miles. Multiple NCRS wins and the coveted L71 Tri-Power 427/435 hp engine. View Details 1969 Corvette L88 Convertible Tony DeLorenzo won numerous races in his special-ordered Corvettes. This car was raced around the world until purchased by Porsche's team. It was retired in a Swiss collection for a dozen years until it was brought to Tony's attention. He produced the original delivery documents, FIA paperwork and a book of photos.  View Details 1969 Corvette L88 Coupe Like the convertible above, the 427 cubic inch (7 liter) V8 was advertised at 425 horsepower. This was to fool the insurance companies that the 435 horsepower engine was more powerful. But the L88 made over 500 horsepower. Just over 2,000 original miles, it has numerous NCRS and Bloomington awards. It includes special instructions for the service manager of Widger Chevrolet to not prep it for delivery. Only 116 L88 Corvettes were built in '69, the last year of this monster motor.  View Details 1970 Chevelle LS6 Convertible The epitome of the Muscle Car Era, Chevrolet decided to silence the competition. The LS6 is a 454 (7.4-liter) officially rated at 450 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. In reality they made much more, as it was essentially a NASCAR engine. It has a M22 Rock Crusher 4-speed transmission and 27,865 original miles.  View Details 1965 Shelby Cobra CSX2588 You are looking at the last small block Cobra sold to the public. Only 56 cars were sold in 'Rouge Iris', and this one is all-original from suspension to the carburetor. View Details 1970 Ford King Cobra Torino Ford's attempt to rival the Plymouth Road Runner resulted in the King Cobra Torino. Ford only built one example with the Boss 429 V8, and it is 1 of 2 experimental models delivered to Bud Moore Engineering. The only 4-speed car, they were never homologated because Ford deemed the project too expensive View Details 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda A period-correct 426 Hemi is backed by a 4-speed with a pistol grip shifter. Only 284 cars were built in this color, with options including a 4.10 Dana Super Track Pack differential. Both broadcast sheets are included, and it only has 11,836 miles. View Details 2016 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta Saving the best for last, this topless LaFerrari is the hottest Ferrari on the market. We simply have no idea how they find these cars, this one being one of the 210 Apertas. It was ordered with a black carbon fiber hard top, itself a $62,807 option. Contrast stitching and headrest embroidery make it one for your collection, so be sure to tune in to their YouTube stream or NBCSN.  View Details Tell us which one you will be bidding on in the comments below and be sure to tune in to Mecum Las Vegas, November 15-17 on NBCSN and YouTube.

Pope's Lamborghini Sells, Smashes Estimates at Auction

Pope Francis received his very own Lamborghini Huracan last year as a gift. The supercar was the rear-wheel-drive version of the Huracan and came heavily modified by Ad Personam, Lamborghini's customization branch. They customized his car with a Bianco Monocerus (white) finish that's split up by Giallo Tiberino (yellow) stripes, meant to pay homage to the flag of Vatican City.RM Sotheby's recently had this very Lamborghini roll across their stage at their Monaco auction. Before the event, it was said to have an estimated auction price of 250,000-350,000 Euro (est. $299,000-$419,490 USD). However, the event has passed and the Pope's Lamborghini has smashed expectations. According to RM Sotheby's, this very Huracan sold for 809,375 Euro (est. $970,072 USD).All proceeds from this sales will be delivered to the Holy Father himself, who will then donate the funds accordingly, as stated by RM Sotheby's: "70% to the city of Nineveh, Iraq (a city heavily attacked and besieged by ISIS), 10% to 'Amici per il Centrafrica Onlus', 10% to Groupe International Chirurgiens Amis de la Main (GICAM) and 10% to the Pope John XXIII Community Association."
