Audi RS7 360° Gif Made From Pumpkin Cameras

There are plenty of ways that you can incorporate a pumpkin into holiday marketing to capture the spirit of Halloween, but Audi just took use of the orange gourd to an entirely new level. In a Tweet and YouTube video shared today, Audi showed off a 360° gif of the RS7. It's grainy, black and white and choppy. But when you consider the fact that these images were captured by pumpkin cameras, this gif becomes pretty impressive. From the race track to the pumpkin patch, #HappyHalloween from #Audi. https://t.co/QtyTTgTH78 — Audi (@Audi) October 29, 2015  Yes, pumpkin cameras. These pictures were captured by cameras made of pumpkins. Through the use of centuries-old tech, Audi's team turned somewhere from 20 to 25 pumpkins into pinhole cameras. I'll admit, I had to turn to Wikipedia for a quick explanation of what a pinhole camera is, since, at 25 years old, I've spent far more time around DSLRs than anything using film. For those who are unfamiliar with pinhole cameras, like I was, you can read the whole article here, but in quick summary it's a light-proof box with one small hole on one side. An image is projected opposite of the small hole onto photographic film, which is then developed in a dark room, just like in the good ol' days. These images can take anywhere from a few seconds to a few hours to capture.(See Also: 2016 Audi A8 L 4.0T Sport Revealed)So, Audi made these pinhole cameras out of pumpkins. Then they set the pumpkins up in a complete circle around an RS7 on a white backdrop. Then they developed the film, digitized the images and compiled them into an eerie gif for Halloween, served up fresh to you on social media.Check out the video and gif, then find your own Audi for pinhole camera practice from our exclusive listings.Audis For Sale (via YouTube, Twitter, Wikipedia) See More Audi News

2016 Audi A8 L 4.0T Sport Revealed

2016 will mark the 22nd year that Audi has produced the A8, and they're bringing it to market at full power with the A8 L 4.0T Sport. A daily driver capable of 450 hp, this muscular new A8 will undoubtedly be a popular model. The German manufacturer released the new A8's details in a press release today, sharing that the increased power comes courtesy of engine enhancements. The twin turbo 4.0T V8 is able to produce an additional 15 hp when compared to last year's Sport edition, and the added power is reflected in a more aggressive design. Suspension was lowered, rocker panels were widened and the bumper has been reshaped, all making for a more dynamic appearance. The interior is made more comfortable with additions throughout, from the top of the car to the bottom wheels. A panoramic sunroof is surrounded by Alcantara headliner, and acoustic glazing on the windows provides a dimmed, warm feeling inside the car. Those who opt for the Executive or Luxury package will see 22-way Comfort seats in their A8 "with Valcona leather and a sporty diamond pattern stitching."(See Also: 2016 Audi RS 6 Avant Performance and RS 7 Sportback Performance)Pricing for this new A8 will start at $90,500, excluding destination charges, taxes, title, additional options and dealer charges. 2016 Audi RS 6 Avant performance and RS 7 Sportback perfo...

It appears as if the gasoline engineers at Audi have been hard at work. According to a press release issued earlier today, the 4.0-liter V8 found among their upper-level models has been boosted to 605 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. That is amazing power from a tiny V8, and it will be used in the upcoming RS 6 Avant performance and RS 7 Sportback performance cars. Dynamic photo,Colour: Ascari BlueAlthough they won’t be sold in the US, these two promise models world class performance. 3.7 seconds is all you will need to reach 62 mph from a standstill, and after 12 seconds your speedometer will be passing 125 mph. Thanks to being only 4.0-liters, fuel economy is a very respectable 24.8 mpg. Both models are arriving with adaptive air suspension that rides 0.8 inches lower than their predecessors. This will help aerodynamics at high speed, because the limiter has been raised to 189.5 mph.(See Also: Land Rover Unveils Two New Special Edition Discoverys)Pricing for the RS 6 Avant performance will start at €117,000 and the RS 7 Sportback performance will be €121,700 (in Germany). Any engine changes to an imported car require a tedious and expensive EPA re-certification, which is why we rarely receive the top end models from Europe. That is why you should stay tuned to Autofluence and see how the competition responds to these new powerful Audis.RS 6 ListingsRS 6 Avant performance Gallery RS 6 Sportback performance Gallery (Source: Audi AG) More Audi News

Audi Electromagnetic Hover Car Concept Design

Audi may just be reaching the point of producing electric vehicles, but an Ohio-based industrial designer has an idea for where they should go after mastering that craft.Kevin Clarridge of Columbus, Ohio, has shared a few sketches of his design for a wheel-free Audi sedan straight out of the 22nd century. A post to his Facebook page Oct. 8 shared a few images, while his Behance profile shows a few more color options for this concept.https://instagram.com/p/8ogR-diH6l/Pretty much, it's an Audi hover car. No wheels, no axles, just the ability to float along the magnetically charged roads of the future with an aggressively beautiful design and classic coach doors. The classic Audi rings are prominently visible, while the design seems to have deep roots in the existing R8.While it may sound like the tech for this kind of a car is still off in the distant future, it's not impossible to think that we may see such a car in our lifetimes. Lexus unveiled a working hoverboard in August of this year, and it's just a matter of time until they can adapt that tech to a larger, heavier mode of transportation.(See Also: Nissan Vision Gran Turismo Concept to Appear at Tokyo Motor Show)Check out some of Clarridge's other designs on his Instagram and Behance profiles, and be sure to stay with us for more updates from the world of concept cars. Audi R8 GT Spyder vs Koenigsegg One:1 at VMax200

The Audi R8 GT Spyder is definitely no slouch. It houses a 5.2-liter V10 engine that can pump out 525 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. As far as performance goes, it shoots from 0-60 mph in four seconds flat and has a top speed of 194 mph. All of these specs are incredible. But, the Koenigsegg One:1's specs dwarf them.Creating power for the One:1 is a 5.0-liter V8 engine fixed with two turbochargers. This engine creates one megawatt of power, which equates to 1,341 hp, while torque is rated at 1,011 lb-ft. I'll skip its 0-60 mph time and just tell you it can go from 0-186-0 mph in 17.95 seconds. To sum this short paragraph up: the Koenigsegg One:1 is one of the most insane vehicles ever produced. So, why did The BHP Project pit the R8 GT Spyder against the One:1 during VMax200 over the weekend? Because they could. What's more, it was a surprising race, even with their example of the One:1 being fitted with two new turbochargers, which ramp the power up to 1,500 hp.In a video shared to their YouTube channel today, Stuart McKay of The BHP Project launches the R8 against the One:1 and catches the lead - without launch control, mind you. Eventually, the Swedish hypercar's power is too much for the convertible German. To see the race for yourself, check it out above.Another look at McKay's slick launch. Audi S4 & S4 Avant Introduced

Audi's S4 and S4 Avant will be back for 2016 with quite a few new features, and crowds at the Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA) were the first to discover what those features are.“From day one, our formula for success has been a combination of outstanding quattro performance, restrained design, and state of the art drive train, suspension, and infotainment technology," said Professor Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Audi Board of Management for Technical Development, in a Sept. 15 press release. "The new Audi S4 and S4 Avant impressively continue this sporty tradition.”The 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine found in these Sport models has been revamped to create 354 hp and 368.8 lb-ft, making this daily driver capable of reaching 62 mph from a stop in 4.7 seconds. An eight-speed tiptronic transmission ensures all that power goes directly through the quattro all-wheel drive system, with an average torque split of 60 percent to the rear axle and 40 to the front. Of course, that differential is adjusted depending on driving conditions; in those cases, up to 70 percent of the torque can go to the front, while the rear can receive up to 85 percent. CockpitMoving from the engine to the interior, the S4 and S4 Avant enjoy comfortable seating for up to five passengers, with each enjoying seats covered in pearl Nappa leather and Alcantara. The two fabrics are combined, sporting the colors ebony, rotor gray and magma red. The inlays are made of matte brushed aluminum, and the S4 logo can be found embossed on the seats and illuminated on door sills.Technology has been upgraded with the optional Audi virtual cockpit, which offers a fully digital instrument cluster and a head-up display. The MMI operating system and Audi connect hardware are also included with the S4 and S4 Avant, providing high-speed internet access and a WiFi hotspot. Sound is provided by Bang & Olufsen.(See Also: Best Audi Guide for 2016: Audi RS, S & 10 Additional Models Released)Driver assist programs for these models come in the form of predictive efficiency assistant, active lane assist, adaptive cruise control, park assist, cross traffic assist, exit warning, collision avoidance assist, turn assist and pre sense systems. Audi e-tron quattro Concept Introduced

Tesla has enjoyed quite a bit of time as the world's leading producer of electric vehicles, but releases at Frankfurt are pointing toward a world with a lot more competition for the California-based manufacturer. The Model X crossover from Tesla has yet to officially enter production, but Audi has already begun work on creating a major competitor: the e-tron quattro concept. It was first teased Aug. 20 a few weeks ahead of the 2015 Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA), but today the marque has issued a press release with more information and images, as well as a date for when we can anticipate this model reaching production stages.“Audi will present an all-electric, luxury-class sport SUV in early 2018. The Audi e-tron quattro concept provides a concrete foretaste of this,” says Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Audi Board of Management for Technical Development, in the release. “It combines driving pleasure with great range, an expressive design and excellent comfort.”A sprint from 0-62 mph in this beauty will take an estimated 4.6 seconds, while Audi predicts that an electronically governed top speed of 130.5 mph will be possible. Three electric motors will be responsible for producing 320 kW, or approximately 430 hp, with one motor on the front axle and two on the rear. It's described as performing similarly to a sports car, and a peak boosting moments can create as much as 370 kW and 590 lb-ft.(See Also: Sales Open for the Audi R8 LMS GTS Race Car)Check out the photos of this new concept in the gallery below, and let us know what you think in the comments.
