Bentley Restores The Very First T-Series Example For Its ...

Bentley’s Heritage Collection welcomes a milestone treasure. Today, Bentley is known for its lineup of ultra-luxury vehicles that combine stunning looks with sumptuous features, high-tech solutions, spirited driving, and high performance. However, that philosophy is the culmination of Bentley’s century of heritage, and one of the most important milestones in Bentley’s lineage is the introduction of the T-Series, introducing a monocoque body to Bentley for the frist time as a car that combined luxury and performance in the way Bentley is celebrated for doing today at the highest level. The four-door sedan T-Series featured a 225-horsepower 6.23-liter V8 engine, and got from 0-60 in 10.9 seconds towards a top speed of 115 mph, impressive numbers for the time in the 1960s. The very first Bentley T-Series, chassis number SBH1001, a four-door model finished in Shell Grey, is joining the Bentley Heritage Collection after being painstakingly restored, returning home after 59 years. The car was originally used as a company trials car, and was also used in press coverage when the model launched. However, it was found in storage in non-running condition, and Bentley restored the precious historic car while preserving as much of its original material as possible. While the engine and rear axle needed relatively little restoration work, the interior, wiring, corrosion, and crash damage presented major challenges. The car was beautifully restored, faithfully to the original, including details like the logos on the seat belt buckles, the lack of wing mirrors, the innovative hydro-pneumatcic ride height control and the Vibrashock mounts. Now, the stunning historic Bentley that made important steps towards the Bentley of today by being the brand’s first monocoque-bodied car combining sumptuous luxury with innovative performance, returns to the century-old manufacturer’s Heritage Collection, returning to its original home after being abandoned in disrepair. Bentley Announces New 771HP Hybrid Flying Spur For Septem...

Bentley’s next hybrid sensation is coming soon. Earlier this year, Bentley announced the retirement of its flagship powertrain, the twin-turbocharged W12 engine that imbued its most desirable models with robust performance and opulent luxury. However, a new, more powerful, and much more efficient replacement came in its place, the new Bentley Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain. Introduced in the new 2025 Bentley Continental GT and GTC Speed, the new setup combines a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine with an electric system to produce 771 horsepower and 738 lb/ft of torque. However, the Continental isn’t the only car that will boast Bentley’s new flagship hybrid powerplant. The Flying Spur is coming next, and the new ultra-luxe hybrid performance sedan is set to be revealed in a week, on September 10. With its immense power and innovative approach to performance, Bentley has dubbed the upcoming Flying Spur a “four-door supercar,” and along with boasting its incredible speed, it will be the most efficient four-door Bentley yet. Its total range is over 500 miles, with an all-electric driving range of more than 45 miles. With the new Bentley Continental showing off its incredible hybrid power by reaching its top speed in the Ryfylke undersea tunnel in Norway, the new Flying Spur will be launched with a film that shows off its incredible high-performance abilities as a sumptuous luxury sedan, with various motorsport legends participating in the launch. With the new Ultra Performance Hybrid Powertrain, Bentley’s iconic Flying Spur is set to become even better. View All Bentleys For Sale

Bentley Recaps Its Historic Monterey Car Week 2024 Presence

Classic and modern Bentleys alike bring automotive excellence to Monterey Car Week. Bentley, with over 100 years of history, is one of the most coveted and desirable manufacturers in the automotive world, with uncompromising luxury, incredible attention to detail, and cutting-edge engineering and technology. Combining sumptuous comfort with spirited driving character, Bentley has a long legacy to reflect on when it comes to creating a new luxury performance car sensation, which is exactly what it did when redesigning the new Continental GT & GTC Speed for the 2025 model year. The new Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain with 771 horsepower and 738 lb/ft of torque is what powers the new Continental GT Speed, but with its new single-headlight design, Bentley revives an elegant design convention that it last used in 1963. The last car that featured the beautiful single-headlight design was the Bentley S2, and an example of the Bentley S2 Drophead Coupe was entered in this year’s prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, bringing Bentley’s history and modern excellence together at Monterey Car Week. The new Continental GT Speed switching from a W12 to a V8 powertrain is historic as well, and the Bentley S2 represents a similar transformation, being the car that switched from a straight-six engine in the S1 to a 6.23-liter engine itself. In a poetic union, the North American Debut of the new Continental, influenced by the impact and ethos of the S2, coincided with the showcasing of a beautiful 1961 Bentley S2 Drophead Coupe, one of just 15 examples made by Mulliner, at the Concours d’Elegance. In addition, another revived classic made an appearance at the event: the on-road debut of the new Bentley Speed Six Continuation series, Mulliner’s painstaking revival of a 1920s Le Mans racing legend. With stunning classics, recreations of historic racing legends, and the arrival of a new pinnacle grand tourer, Bentley’s presence at Monterey Car Week was a celebration of automotive excellence, both old and new. Personal Commissioning details from Mulliner can be seen throughout the bespoke car’s Gravity Grey interior, including diamond quilting, contrast stitching, and piano finishes in the same Gravity Grey color. Bentley Reports $283 Million Profits In H1 2024 Despite C...

Bentley Motors recently shared its financial results for the first half of 2024, showcasing an operating profit of $283 million. Although this is a drop from the $423 million reported in the same period of 2023, it reflects the strength and stability of the luxury British brand during tough market conditions. The overall revenue for the period was $1.51 billion, down from $1.82 billion last year. Despite these figures, Bentley's return on sales remained strong at 18.8% compared to 23.2% in the previous year. Jan-Henrik Lafrentz, Member of the Board for Finance and IT, highlighted the company's dedication to its strategic initiatives and investments, including the shift towards a fully electric product portfolio. The first half of 2024 proved challenging, but Bentley remains optimistic about its future. The recently launched Continental GT Speed is expected to boost the company's order numbers significantly later this year and into 2025 as it enters global markets. Bentley's half-year deliveries totaled 5,476 cars, with the Bentayga SUV, including the Bentayga EWB models, accounting for 41% of total sales. The Continental GT and GTC followed with 34%, and the Flying Spur made up the remaining 25%. Although global sales were 23% lower than in the same period in 2023, the Americas remained Bentley's strongest market, with China and Europe following. As Bentley navigates the complexities of the current market, its focus on innovation and strategic planning remains steadfast. Despite the decline in sales and revenue, Bentley's commitment to delivering luxury and performance continues to drive its success and future growth. Bentley Celebrates Its Final Hand-Built W12 Engine At The...

Bentley marks the end of an era. After two decades of providing extraordinary performance and engineering, Bentley Motors is bidding farewell to its legendary 12-cylinder engine, the W12. The monumental event took place at the manufacturer's Dream Factory in Crewe, where the last W12-powered Bentayga, Continental GT, and Flying Spur rolled off the production line. Since its debut in the 2003 Continental GT, over 100,000 W12 engines have been handcrafted in the U.K. This milestone aligns with Bentley's Beyond100 strategy, aiming to lead the industry in sustainable luxury. To honor this legacy, a commemorative lunch was held for the W12 assembly and R&D teams, and each team member received a commemorative W12 engine piston. The W12 engine has been key in Bentley's history, revolutionizing the brand with its unmatched performance and compact design. An all-new ultra-high-performance hybrid powertrain will replace the 6.0L twin-turbo W12. The new system combines a V8 combustion engine with advanced battery technology, providing even greater power and efficiency. The new hybrid powertrain will power a new generation of Bentleys, showcasing the company's highest output while significantly reducing CO2 emissions. As Bentley moves towards its electrified future, the W12's legacy will be cherished. The engine has been instrumental in setting numerous records, from World Ice Speed Records to Pikes Peak achievements. With a limited run of 120' Speed Edition 12' models, Bentley celebrates the W12's swansong in style. Each model features unique badging, embroidered seats, and commemorative plaques, ensuring the W12's memory lives on. View all Bentleys for sale on duPont REGISTRY by clicking the link below.
