BMW Motorrad Reveals The M 1000 RR Isle of Man TT Limited Edition Superbike

Recognized as one of the fastest and most dangerous motorcycle races on earth, the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy welcomes professional riders from around the world to a race course made of public roads closed for competition. Since its first run in 1907, it’s challenged riders with high-speed mountain sections, tight village streets, and a long history that has made it an iconic test of skill and bravery. GALLERY-EMBED Commemorating the 115th running and the participation of its RR motorcycles, BMW Motorrad just unveiled the M 1000 RR Limited Edition Isle of Man TT. Limited to just 115 worldwide, it’s made exclusively for riders and collectors who want something directly connected to BMW’s two-wheel racing DNA. GALLERY-EMBED The exterior comes finished in British Racing Green and features TT Mountain Course graphics that map sections of the legendary circuit across the fairings. Details include a carbon fiber airbox cover with TT branding, an Alcantara seat, a satin-chrome aluminum tank, and a black swingarm that gives it an actual motorsport look and feel.  GALLERY-EMBED Left- and right-side fairings reference the direction of TT corners as a small and subtle nod. Add milled numbering on the top yoke, a certificate of authenticity, and M carbon pieces, and the result is a superbike that’s both a collectible display piece and a performance-focused motorcycle built on the M platform. GALLERY-EMBED The Isle of Man TT heritage behind it runs deep, and BMW Motorrad is incorporating decades of road racing success into one motorcycle. BMW’s connection to the Mountain Course has only grown stronger in more recent years, with the S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR participating as competitors. Riders like Peter Hickman, Michael Dunlop, and Davey Todd have helped shape that legacy, pushing BMW superbikes to record-breaking speeds on one of the world’s most demanding road circuits.  For anyone searching for a BMW M 1000 RR Isle of Man TT special edition motorcycle, reach out to your local BMW Motorrad dealership for more upcoming pre-order information. BMW’s Wild Vision K18 Concept Hints At the Future of High-Speed Luxury Motorcycling

BMW’s Wild Vision K18 Concept Hints at the Future of High-Speed Luxury Motorcycling

Now we don’t cover motorcycles often on duPont REGISTRY, but the ones that we do have garnered serious attention in the past. Be it the Volonaut Airbike or the one-off #HF355 V12 Ferrari-powered superbike, these are stand-outs that have caught our attention, and this latest one from BMW Motorrad certainly fits into that camp.  This is the BMW Vision K18, a futuristic-looking one-off concept that was unveiled at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on the shores of Lago di Como in Northern Italy. Unlike the R18 Concept and the sporty carbon-clad super-bike Concept RR shown at the same venue last year, which served as the preview for the next-gen M1000RR, the Vision K18 seen here gives us an idea of where BMW Motorrad wants to take its next generation of long-distance cruisers and baggers.  The K-Series, of course, can trace its roots back to the early 1980s and the original K100, which established the in-cylinder lineage for the propeller badge, but on two wheels. The K1600 Series in more modern times raised that ceiling further into a 1650 cc in-line unit. The K18 builds on that with a 1,800 cc unit, and the inline six is a layout that is also synonymous with BMW cars. “With the BMW Motorrad Vision K18, we show how we interpret performance, luxury, and emotion in a new, very confident way. For us, the inline six-cylinder is far more than an engine – it is a statement. The Vision K18 translates this power into a sculptural form that makes dynamism and speed tangible even at a standstill. This bike stands for our passion to redefine the boundaries of design and performance repeatedly.” - Markus Flasch, CEO BMW Motorrad.   BMW says that the long-elongated stance takes cues from the likes of Concorde (yes, the now-defunct supersonic jet that could take you from Heathrow to JFK in just over three hours) to convey dynamism and speed, even at a standstill.  The power-train and the number six play a key role in the way this concept looks, with its abstract, aerodynamic form. As seen on the Vision Alpina Concept also revealed at the same venue, the Vision K18 also starts with a shark nose upfront with six sleek LEDS with active cooling on the fascia, six intake ducts that feed the central air filter, culminating in six beautifully formed exhaust pipes, three on either side of the rear wheel. Ideally, this is where you’d find the luggage box. Created by flame spraying, the bright orange finish on the exhaust recalls classic Formula 1 exhaust headers.  <- Gallery -> The low-slung stance made possible with the hydraulic suspension certainly accomplishes that, and the industrial hand-formed monolithic brushed finish aesthetic that stretches to 6.5 feet long only adds to that. The rider sits on rubber pads under a forged carbon panel that extends from the tank to the handlebars. Look closely, and you’ll see the propeller badge embossed into this single continuous side panel from headlight to tail.  Built around a lightweight carbon fiber core, overall, this shape manages to be both classic and futuristic at the same time. The BMW hasn’t revealed exact power figures, but what this one-off concept hints at is that the six-cylinder is going nowhere and should feature in something truly spectacular in the future.  View All BMWs For Sale Images: BMW Motorrad

Carbon-Clad Concept BMW Motorrad Showcases Next-Generatio...

As this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza weekend continues to unfold at Villa d’Este on the shores of Lake Como, all eyes are on the event hosted by BMW, and among the rare classics and couture coachwork, the Bavarian automaker showcased one of its most audacious two-wheeled creations yet: the BMW Motorrad Concept RR, a 230 horsepower bike that packs some serious race-bred hardware, derived directly from the world of motorsports. The liter-class superbike segment has become an arms race, and BMW has just raised the stakes with this cutting-edge two-wheeled concept. BMW says that this is the earliest that they’ve ever previewed a next-gen RR. The Concept RR draws heavily from the FIM championship-winning M1000 RR, which dominated the WorldSBK championship, with two-time world champion Toprak Razgatlıoğlu at the helm. Under the edgy skin, the Concept RR runs a water-cooled inline four engine. Making 230 horsepower, this unit is derived directly from the title-winning machine and is accompanied by the same high-end electronics: race-spec engine management, traction control system, and engine braking tuned for both street and track use.  “This is a true masterpiece of our development team,” said Markus Flasch, Head of BMW Motorrad. “The transfer from racing to road has never been shown more clearly.” But performance is only half the story, as BMW Motorrad engineers have also gone to great lengths to shave weight, setting new benchmarks in lightweight construction. Although BMW didn’t specify how much, with further use of aluminum and carbon for the frame and fittings, it should be light. For some context, the M1000 RR weighs 423 pounds. Aerodynamics is another area where BMW continues to innovate. With reduced external elements, ventilated front and rear sections for optimized air flow, the overall profile is compact and is engineered for high-speed stability, minimal resistance at top speed, and razor-sharp handling for maximum cornering speeds. The edgy fairing isn’t just for style; it is a working element and comes equipped with winglets. An illuminated RR logo under the rear complements this stealthy machine. Braking comes courtesy of high-performance racing calipers and discs. Alongside the Concept RR, BMW also revealed a new lifestyle Concept RR LTD jacket. Made in collaboration with the Bavarian company MEINDL and limited to just 50 pieces, this is a calf Nappa leather jacket that exudes motorsport aggression and street fashion. Elsewhere at Villa d’Este, BMW also showcased the stunning Speedtop V8 Shooting Brake and the much-anticipated M2 CS, as part of the event where Broad Arrow marks its inaugural auction at the prestigious Lake Como venue. As for BMW Motorrad, this motorcycle is a declaration of where the Bavarian motorcycle brand is headed next. The competition in the supersport segment continues to heat up, with models like the Ducati Panigale V4 and V4 R, Aprilia’s RSV4, Yamaha’s R1M, and Honda’s Fireblade SP all vying for the same audience.  But if BMW’s Concept RR is any indicator of what’s to come, the future looks blisteringly fast.
