Carbon-Clad Concept BMW Motorrad Showcases Next-Generatio...

As this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza weekend continues to unfold at Villa d’Este on the shores of Lake Como, all eyes are on the event hosted by BMW, and among the rare classics and couture coachwork, the Bavarian automaker showcased one of its most audacious two-wheeled creations yet: the BMW Motorrad Concept RR, a 230 horsepower bike that packs some serious race-bred hardware, derived directly from the world of motorsports. The liter-class superbike segment has become an arms race, and BMW has just raised the stakes with this cutting-edge two-wheeled concept. BMW says that this is the earliest that they’ve ever previewed a next-gen RR. The Concept RR draws heavily from the FIM championship-winning M1000 RR, which dominated the WorldSBK championship, with two-time world champion Toprak Razgatlıoğlu at the helm. Under the edgy skin, the Concept RR runs a water-cooled inline four engine. Making 230 horsepower, this unit is derived directly from the title-winning machine and is accompanied by the same high-end electronics: race-spec engine management, traction control system, and engine braking tuned for both street and track use.  “This is a true masterpiece of our development team,” said Markus Flasch, Head of BMW Motorrad. “The transfer from racing to road has never been shown more clearly.” But performance is only half the story, as BMW Motorrad engineers have also gone to great lengths to shave weight, setting new benchmarks in lightweight construction. Although BMW didn’t specify how much, with further use of aluminum and carbon for the frame and fittings, it should be light. For some context, the M1000 RR weighs 423 pounds. Aerodynamics is another area where BMW continues to innovate. With reduced external elements, ventilated front and rear sections for optimized air flow, the overall profile is compact and is engineered for high-speed stability, minimal resistance at top speed, and razor-sharp handling for maximum cornering speeds. The edgy fairing isn’t just for style; it is a working element and comes equipped with winglets. An illuminated RR logo under the rear complements this stealthy machine. Braking comes courtesy of high-performance racing calipers and discs. Alongside the Concept RR, BMW also revealed a new lifestyle Concept RR LTD jacket. Made in collaboration with the Bavarian company MEINDL and limited to just 50 pieces, this is a calf Nappa leather jacket that exudes motorsport aggression and street fashion. Elsewhere at Villa d’Este, BMW also showcased the stunning Speedtop V8 Shooting Brake and the much-anticipated M2 CS, as part of the event where Broad Arrow marks its inaugural auction at the prestigious Lake Como venue. As for BMW Motorrad, this motorcycle is a declaration of where the Bavarian motorcycle brand is headed next. The competition in the supersport segment continues to heat up, with models like the Ducati Panigale V4 and V4 R, Aprilia’s RSV4, Yamaha’s R1M, and Honda’s Fireblade SP all vying for the same audience.  But if BMW’s Concept RR is any indicator of what’s to come, the future looks blisteringly fast. BMW M Celebrates The World Premiere Of The New BMW M2 CS

The new BMW M2 CS is on its way. For decades, BMW's legendary performance division has been defined by a single, unmistakable letter: M. From icons like the E30 M3 and the V10-powered E60 M5 to the track-focused M4 CSL, these M cars have set the benchmark for performance and everyday usability. Among the latest to wear the badge is the BMW M2, taking shape as a compact that captures the essence of M in its lightweight two-door form. While F87 and G87 generations played a crucial role in paving the way for the M2's ongoing legacy, BMW is proud to write a new chapter for the M2 with an exclusive worldwide unveiling of the new BMW M2 CS at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2025. BMW just released the design of the M2 CS as part of the Concours' kick-off on Lake Como, which takes place from May 23rd to 25th. While figures and specifics are waiting to be announced on May 28th, photos reveal an up-close look at what BMW fanatics can expect from the M-division. The new BMW M2 CS keeps that compact, short-wheelbase feel that makes it so much fun to drive, but now with a sportier, more evolved look. One of the easiest changes to spot is its wider body and redesigned rear trunk. Newly redesigned forged wheels keep the classic multi-spoke CS look but with a fresher, more modern twist. We're still waiting to hear the full story on what's under the hood and how much power we can expect, but it's safe to say this M2 CS is going to prove itself both on and off the track. In the meantime, get familiar with the new BMW M2 CS through our gallery below, and check out all BMW M2s for sale on duPont REGISTRY by clicking the link below. BMW Unveils New Speedtop V8 Shooting Brake

A new BMW concept envisions a shooting brake. BMW drummed up lots of buzz and excitement at last year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este by unveiling the Concept Skytop. With an open top design inspired by legendary al fresco BMW models like the 507 and the Z8, the stunning twin-turbo V8-powered two-seater received such a positive reception from enthusiasts, that BMW decided to unveil it as a production model with highly exclusive numbers. This year, BMW is hoping to continue that streak, with a new concept that appeals to an even more underappreciated niche in the automotive world. Enter the new Concept Speedtop, unveiled at this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este with much of what made the Skytop so exciting, with a sleek interpretation of BMW’s signature design cues, mixed with classic performance car proportions, like a sloping roof and a long hood. However, what makes the Speedtop so buzzworthy is the fact that it’s a shooting brake, part of a rare breed of performance cars that BMW has championed in the past. Described as a “three-door interpretation of a BMW Touring,” the Speedtop’s shooting brake body is reminiscent of models like the M Coupe that have few peers, and even evokes the panache of shooting brake models like the Ferrari FF and Ferrari GTC4Lusso. Designed with the idea of being a dream car for weekend getaways for two, the Speedtop features an exquisitely luxurious two-seat interior with compartments behind for luggage. Two-tone upholstery highlights the elevated degree of craftsmanship that the Speedtop offers. Similarly to the Skytop, BMW says that under the hood of the new Concept Speedtop lies “the most powerful V8 engine currently offered by BMW.” With its combination of exquisite luxury, stunning shooting brake design, and the brawn of a V8, the Speedtop is an enthusiast’s absolute dream, and the perfect recipe for a dying breed of performance cars. Luckily, BMW has already announced that the Speedtop will be offered in a production run of just 70 units, eclipsing the Skytop’s 50. Now available for order, the new BMW Concept Speedtop is BMW’s latest collector-grade masterpiece. View All BMWs For Sale Image Source: BMW

BMW & Solid Power Test All-Solid-State EV Batteries With ...

BMW’s electric flagship previews the next chapter of battery technology. While electrification is rapidly transforming the automotive industry, there remains a significant limiting factor when it comes to the functionality of electric vehicles: the battery. Electric vehicle batteries make EVs often heavier than their combustion-powered counterparts, and their charge capacity means that unless they are focused heavily on efficiency, their driving range is limited compared to many combustion-powered vehicles. In addition, despite the numerous innovations in charging technology, charging an electric vehicle still takes significantly longer than refueling at the pump. However, in collaboration with Solid Power, BMW Group is looking to push battery technology forward with all-solid-state battery cells. The pure ASSB cells are using BMW’s flagship luxury all-electric sedan, the i7, as a test bed in the area of Munich, Germany. The innovation of ASSB cells promises to provide higher energy density, which translates to longer driving ranges without the increased rate that current battery technology would bring with it. The new BMW i7 ASSB test vehicle is not only a preview into the future of EV battery technology, but it is also a representation of BMW’s constant pursuit of cutting-edge automotive innovation, including combining proven technology with Solid Power’s forward-thinking solid-state solutions, as the latest chapter of the collaboration between Solid Power and BMW that began in 2016. BMW’s commitment to expertise in battery cell technology began in 2008, and with the information that the BMW i7 ASSB test vehicle is gathering, the next generation of electric luxury vehicles will be more efficient and powerful than ever before thanks to the new innovations that BMW and Solid Power are discovering. Teased: BMW Brewing A Long-Roof Shooting Brake Surprise?

With less than a week to go for the 2025 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este (May 24-26), BMW has dropped teaser images of what appears to be a mysterious shooting brake, owing to its profile with a long roofline and a steeply raked hatchback. Those slim LED taillights and the general shape of the tail section in particular appear to draw cues from the BMW Skytop, the stunning coachbuilt Roadster concept that was also revealed at Lake Como last year. With the production version limited to just 50 examples and each rumored at $500,000, the sleek Skytop roadster with a 617-horsepower twin-turbo M8 heart was sold out. BMW Skytop Given the Skytop’s popularity, a limited-run shooting brake follow-up cannot be ruled out. While BMW has recently been making a comeback with its wagons in a big way, the Bavarian automaker's history with the two-door long-roof format can be traced back to the 02-Series Touring from 1971, and who can forget the Z3 ‘Clown Shoe’ of the late 1990s. More recently, we’ve also seen the BMW Touring Coupé. Based on the third-gen Z4, this concept stole the show on the lawns of Villa d’Este back in 2023. BMW Shooting Brakes For 2025, BMW once again returns as the official partner, curating the event with everything from concept cars to vintage and classic automobiles. There will be three world premieres, but what seems to tie it to this mysterious wagon is a press release from April where BMW, specifically revealed that it will “premiere an elegantly sporting one-off designed to provide motoring pleasure for two.” Broad Arrow Auctions joins the lakeside action this year for the first time, with several blue-chip classics set to cross the auction block on Saturday. As for this mysterious shooting brake, all eyes are on the prestigious Lake Como event for now. View All BMWs For Sale View this post on Instagram A post shared by BMW (@bmw) Source: BMW Instagram

BMW Celebrates 50th Anniversary Of Art Cars With World Tour

Half a century of Art Cars is a reason to celebrate. BMW is, of course, known for its celebrated lineup of German luxury cars, which combine sharp styling and ample features with enviably fun driving character. However, a certain legacy within BMW’s history combines its signature automotive excellence with daring creativity and culture. Those are BMW’s Art Cars, an extensive collection of BMWs that have been customized by celebrated artists from across the globe, and that collection is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, since its introduction in 1975. Called “rolling sculptures,” the legacy of BMW automotive artworks began with a car created by artist Alexander Calder, and the latest contribution to BMW’s art car collection comes from Julie Mehretu. The collection of over 20 cars represents the excellence of various artists, their rich cultural and personal backgrounds, and their artistic styles over the past 50 years. To celebrate the milestone 50th anniversary of the collection, BMW has announced an Art Car World Tour. Starting in Europe and Asia, Roy Lichtenstein’s, Andy Warhol’s, Robert Rauschenberg’s, David Hockney’s and Jeff Koons’ BMW Art Cars will be displayed in Vienna, while Julie Mehretu’s BMW M Hybrid V8 will be displayed at Art Basel Hong Kong. Mehretu, going far beyond the Art Car itself, will embark in hosting workshops for young filmmakers and artists in five different countries in Africa, as well. Sandro Chia’s BMW Art Car will be on display at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Lake Como, Italy, and the Louwman Museum in The Hague will display eight BMW Art Cars. With the 3 Series also celebrating its 50th anniversary, BMW M3 Art Cars by Sandro Chia, Michael Jagamara Nelson, and Ken Done will also be part of a commemorative display at the BMW Museum. A new Art Car book, a new Art Car 1:43 scale model by Julie Mehretu, and an Art Car fashion collection will be part of the 50th anniversary celebration, as well. With 20 cars and 50 years of legacy, BMW’s celebration of the arts and automotive excellence has created a truly iconic collection. View All BMWs For Sale Image Source: BMW

BMW is testing the future of its “Ultimate Driving Machine.” Self-proclaimed as the purveyor of the “Ultimate Driving Machine,” BMW’s lineup is known for its driver-focused ethos and performance-oriented character. However, the iconic manufacturer is on the cusp of a new era, with a variety of new concept cars showing off the potential of its quickly upcoming Neue Klasse models. One of those is the BMW Vision Driving Experience. While the car is not destined for production according to BMW, it will serve as a high-performance test bed for drivetrain and dynamics-related technology for the Neue Klasse models, a cohort dubbed by BMW as the “Heart of Joy.” At BMW’s Debrecen plant in Hungary, the first model of the BMW Neue Klasse is set to go into production this year, and the new prototype vehicle ensures that BMW’s legendary fun-to-drive character is present among the other paramount characteristics of the Neue Klasse: electric, digital, and circular.
