BMW Unleashes the 2018 M5 (Specs and Photos)

Monterey Car Week 2017 is over. All the glitz and glamour of the event included stunning concepts from automakers big and small. Sorting through all the news is a formidable task, so BMW decided to make it easier by launching the new M5 in a press release last night. Bavarian fans the world over have been waiting for the new 5 Series super sedan, and this one doesn't disappoint. Starting with a new chassis, CFRP has been substituted for metal in many places. Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic is how the 7 Series is lighter than its competition, and its a preview of how all cars will be in the future. Check Out The BMW M5 Competition EditionThe most important news is under the hood. Digging deep into their 4.4 liter V8, engineers have discovered 40 more horsepower and 53 lb-ft of torque. You will have 600 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque....And that torque arrives at only 1,800 rpm and lasts to 5,700 rpm. Boost is upped to almost 25 psi, and the fuel injectors are pushed to 5,000 psi. Power like this is brutal, which is why the AWD system is all new. The system is named M Xdrive, and it incorporates the latest in torque vectoring and locking differentials. Are you ready for drifting? Floyd Mayweather's Bugatti Is Ready To FightDrivers can now select RWD only, with the transfer case sending everything rearward. That being said, you will need drag radials if you hope to launch at these power levels.AWD is used to reach 60 mph in 3.2 seconds. We will receive 50 "First Edition" examples in frozen dark red metallic with smoke white leather interiors. Expected to arrive early next year, our dealers will have to make room for them. So check out these great deals on M5 for sale, and stay with us for more BMW updates.Engine: Twin-Turbo 4.4-liter V8Transmission: 8-speed M SteptronicHorsepower: 600 hpTorque: 553 lb-ft0-60: 3.2 secondsTop Speed: 155 mph (limited)

2016 BMW i8: Price, Specs, Review and Photos

2016 BMW i8 Specs Price: $136,500 Engine: 1.5-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder Horsepower: 357 hp 0–60: 4.2 seconds Top Speed: 155 mph Transmission: 6-speed automatic Torque: 420 lb-ft ReviewPerformance hybrids are here to stay, and for its second year of production, BMW’s i8 receives a host of new content. A combined 357 horsepower and 420 pound-feet propel this composite coupe from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds. The i8 is a modern GT car made almost entirely of carbon fiber. The wonder material can be seen along the door jambs and other areas to make light of the car’s performance nature. With 23 miles of pure electric range, the i8 is also a sensible choice for a daily driver. The turbocharged 1.5-liter three cylinder is armed with two electric motor/generators. A combined 357 horsepower and 420 pound-feet propel this composite coupe from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds.Control of the car is managed by the eDrive system. Armed with three driving modes, Comfort, Eco Pro and Sport, it brings together the regenerative braking, stability control and all-wheel-drive system into a cohesive unit. You won’t be bothered by much wind resistance on your way to155 mph. That’s because the exterior is more about clean airflow than downforce. The i8 stands as a proof of concept for many forward looking technologies, and it has been so popular that BMW has added another shift at the plant to keep up with demand. Rumors of a hotter version are in the works, but this level of power, efficiency and civility won’t be easily eclipsed.BMW i8s For Sale Buy Your Issue Now

BMW M4 GTS Production Model Revealed: Specs and Pics

Back on Aug. 14, BMW unveiled the BMW Concept M4 GTS: a water-injected take on the M4 Coupe. Fast forward to today, and BMW has unveiled the production version of the car and all of its specifications in a press release.Being called, unsurprisingly, the M4 GTS, it's the first high-performance special edition BMW has created for the M3/M4 model range, according to the release. But what makes it high-performance? Well, the new water-injection system is a great place for us to start. At its core, the M4 GTS utilizes the turbocharged six-cylinder engine found in the M3/M4. Unlike the base models, however, the GTS has what BMW is calling "innovative water injection technology." This new injection system raises the power up to 500 hp, a 75 hp increase over the base model, and 442 lb-ft of torque, a 36 lb-ft increase over the base model.(See Also: New Porsche 911 Targa 4 & Carrera 4 Models Introduced)Thanks to the car's lightweight carbon fiber construction and the aforementioned boost of power, the M4 GTS is quick. In fact, it can complete a 0-62 mph run in 3.8 seconds, .3 seconds faster than the base model, and has a limited top speed of 189.5 mph, which is 33.5 mph faster than the base model. To make the car even more capable is the three-way M coilover suspension that can be adjusted depending on conditions or the driver's taste. This suspension combined with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires (front: 265/35 R19, rear: 285/30 R20), a light weight and massive power, makes the M4 GTS a monster on the track. So much so that BMW says it can complete Nürburgring-Nordschleife in 7 minutes 28 seconds.Only 700 units of the BMW M4 GTS are planned for production, at a currently unknown price.M4s For SaleGallery (Source: BMW) See more BMW News, Photos and Videos
