The Bugatti W16 Mistral marked an important bookend in the manufacturer’s history. The ultra-exclusive hypercar would be part of Bugatti’s grand finale for the W16 powertrain that rocked the performance engineering and automotive worlds in the 2000s, showcasing it with its ultimate level of power, with open-top thrill, stunning design, painstaking engineering, and incredible bespoke luxury to match.
Unveiled at Monterey Car Week in 2022, the Bugatti W16 Mistral is one of the historic manufacturer’s ultimate statements of hypercar excellence, and as such, only 99 examples of the W16 Mistral were allocated for production, each tailored to its owner's specifications through Bugatti’s Sur Mesure program, making it one of the world’s most exclusive and coveted cars.
Now, that production run has reached its conclusion, appropriately ending an unforgettable chapter of automotive history with a beautiful commission combining luxurious elegance with the brutal power and uncompromised performance engineering of the 16-cylinder, quad-turbocharged roadster.

The final car features a two-tone exterior, combining “Pearl” and “Sparkle” colors. Meanwhile, the interior features Magnolia upholstery and matte gray carbon fiber. The owner also specified that Ettore Bugatti’s signature be embroidered on the headrests, engraved on the door sills, and rendered on the engine cover. Another ode to Bugatti’s past is the armrest plate, which was created in collaboration with legendary crystal manufacturer Lalique. ‘Spirit of the Wind,’ the frozen crystal glass creation, is an ode to the relationship between Ettore Bugatti and René Lalique themselves.
Bugatti Riyadh worked in collaboration with Bugatti Sur Mesure and its manager, Jascha Straub, to create a stunning and bespoke conclusion to the Mistral’s production run, and as an ode to the Middle East, a falcon head replaces the usual Bugatti elephant sculpture in the gear shift. Marking the end of the Mistral era, the final commission was unveiled just after La Manufacture, which will house the production of Bugatti’s new hypercar, the Tourbillon, was inaugurated. Making way for another chapter of luxury hypercar dominance, the final W16 Mistral is a graceful and momentous conclusion to Bugatti’s W16 hypercar heyday.
